I’m going to call to put grumpy to sleep today he’s got too bad for me to take care of him now and he hasn’t been himself this weekend. I’ve taken the day off work to take him in and grieve the poor ol boy.
He stopped pooping normally and I thought he was constipated. He smelt bad too and when I gave him his regular sponge bath last night and looked at his underside I seen he had ........ and it got into his fur on his rear and I couldn’t get it off. His chin is getting pretty bad again too and started seeping pus.
Although he puts a brave face on and loves me I can see he’s done fighting . I have been so upset all night and he will come put his hands on my chest like he does and rub noses with me to tell me it’s okay. I wish it didn’t work out this way he’s a good boy but I gave him a good life the past while and he got to be loved for the first time.

I'm so sorry to hear about Grumpy. You have given him the bestest life ever, and helping him cross over the bridge will be the final gift to give him. He will leave his little rabbit footprints in your heart and his spirit will always be with you. You boys will be in my thoughts today.

thank you both I appreciate it. I’m gonna spend some time with him and spoil him. I’ll give him his favourite banana sauce and some painkillers.
OMG. so saddened by this. Ricky you have been such a champion to Rocky. Please know you are doing the right thing for him. I think one of our duties as animal lovers (bunny or otherwise) is to help our furry friends peacefully go to sleep when their time has come. It is a huge act of courage to do this and it is also a big act of love. Wish I could give you a hug.

they got him in at 4 pm today and said I can be there with him. It’s 10 45 now and we’re eating breakfast. His favourite thing in the world. Every time I let him out he rubs noses with me and then jumps up on my lap
Oh, those hours before the appointment are so hard. At least Grumpy is none the wiser, but, for you, they will be hell. I will be thinking of you both.

Another couple hours and he’ll be crossed over to the other side free from pain and his spirit no longer trapped in his broken down body. He’s a trooper
Thanks I havent cried this hard In a long time. He a good friend and gets such joy from something as simple as having his favourite puréed salad squirted into his mouth. He always stands up and looks at me in the kitchen licking his lips while he can hear the blender going. Every time I come sit down with his little cup of food he does circles and hops around before climbing all over me. He won’t be forgotten.
