My buddy Chance doing his favorite thing ( bird watching ).
Quite probably. Mainily because human behavior has changed over the years. I had my first cats when declawing them was considered cruel, you wouldn't keep one in an apartment and the idea of not allowing it in an out was also considered strange.
Don't get me wrong, l am neither pro or con alll these things (well, declawing IS cruel, it's like removing the cat's first kncucle as I understand it) but I think even most indoor cat owners like, don't do that so much.
So yeah. I happen to love cats (although I am under the impression that your garden variety cat does not love you back, really, it sees you as a source of what it wants. This is also at times not unlike a spouse, so don't get offended, cat owners or spouses!) The cat wants something, like to be pettted (OR in YOUR CASE A BATH, WTH) and it approaches you and acts in a way it has learned to train you into doing it.
With that said, I think dogs are too smart and love you too much, so like, they are a HASSLE too. All that codepenence. LOL.
I have heard domesticated bunnies are really smart maybe I should get one of THOSE but like, I don't want to pick up bunny poop eveywhere, even though it is relatively inoffensive.
Holding out for horse/'donkey for now. Don't get me wrong I have owned horses and they are dumb in their own special way too. They are a) herd animals so easiy affected by outside forces, kind of thing and b) flighty as all GET OUT. If you have a horse that's a great and fairly youthful horse you must be prepared for anything. Donkeys I have heard are super smart but in the Loki/mischief kind of way where like, they escape, and then find your neighbor's kid and don't eat it or anything but might corrall it for a day by poking the kid with its snout, or whatever it's called, overnight, and the parents are summoning Lassie AND the police and they are Not Happy.
I could get behind a donkey and by that I mean I would never get behind a donkey. They kick. LOL.

I believe declawing (which is F’N awful!!) came into effect sometime in the 70’s and unfortunately is still practiced. But it is mostly frowned upon now. Can’t speak for other regions but unless it is a medical necessity it is banned throughout much of Canada.
Humans have evolved over the years, and with that our pets have evolved to a degree as well. But don’t think the changes in human behaviour over these past few generations has granted an evolutionary change in cats. My gran use to share stories of her childhood cats, and apart from the food they ate, they resemble my childhood cats as well as my current kitty. Play, cuddle, get into mischief and even come when called. There are obvious difference between say a farm cat and a house cat in the suburbs. But Zelda could have been either – she has adapted to the surroundings I have provided.
Cats are that domesticated animal that has never really been domesticated. There is always that wild instinct. And I see manipulating their owners (or better put, slaves) for gain as a sign of intelligence. We can be in this relationship together – give a little, gain a little.
I am by far not a religious person, but the opening quote in Kedi (documentary on the street cats of Istanbul) just resonates with me.
“It is said cats are aware of God’s existence. While dogs think people are God, cats don’t. They just know better.”
Beautiful movie if anyone is interested.
Along with another lesser known Tendonectomy that prevents the cat's claws from extending.
I love him a lot too. I can’t say favourite but he’s my buddy for sureDon't tell the others but Fluffy is my favorite.
He’s a rabbit actuallyUh huh, because he is a lil horndog![]()

Declawing is illegal in Burbank (my hometown) cats also have roaming rights in Burbank. No lease laws for cats. I also follow City the Kitty and donate to his crusade to make people aware of the harm of declawing. I would NEVER and neither would any of the rescues I am affiliated withI believe declawing (which is F’N awful!!) came into effect sometime in the 70’s and unfortunately is still practiced.
they sure are living the good life Ricky!Making a second house!
They can go into this while I clean the big one or just extra room to separate any unruly bunnies.
