YAY Archie is Felv (feline leukemia) free! His test came back negative. This worried me because if he were positive it would really limit my ability to get him in a Rescue. He is home from the vets office and as I sort of expected he had already been neutered. Hey I did try to check myself but every time I lifted up his tail to take a gander he would swat at me (he did not think we knew each other long enough for me to be checking him out like that)
He is now current on all vaccines and he did not have a mico-chip.
I think he will make a good candidate for a Rescue now. I will be calling in all favors from the Rescues I know.
I was sort of worried about him being in a cage but he has been a perfect gentleman as long as I keep the meals coming. I want him in the garage where I can keep him warm and safe but I do not trust him to free roam due to male cats and spraying
He will now be embarking on a two week de worming because he has been living outside.

He's a beautiful cat. Hope he gets to roam free in the garage when he gets better.
Tough one Ed. I cannot let him roam my garage because he is a male cat and will spray. I am concentrating on the fact that he is safe and warm. More then he had last week. I hope he will not be in a cage for more then a week. He also gets out during the day and then I just pray and hope he stays close.

Well it rained last night and discovered my heavy duty canopy that’s supposedly water resistant isn’t so. Water seeped right through the fabric like a blanket causing it to rain under the canopy as well. :( just my luck I worked so hard getting the back cleaned up and set up.

Water was getting in the front door of the rabbit house but I used s big tarp to cover that at least.

Sigh I got it from my work I’m gonna see if they will take it back.

@Ricky Vapes, suggestion about the canopy. You should have lots of Tyvek blowing around the lumberyard. Grab a large sheet of it, big enough to cover the canopy and fold up under the side panels. Secure with clothespins, binder clips, whatever. Take off after the rains to avoid mold in the cloth. The Tyvek can also be used to protect the fabric from the summer sun. Our first one pretty much disintegrated after two summers of sun. :(

Didn't know they made those. known on ECF as El Whacko, is getting older and those will be very useful for him when physical activity gets a bit more awkward for him. Then, of course, there's the sheer hilarity of watching a dog get used to boots.

Crikey Ricky! I hope not. None of us are ready for that again so soon:(
I know these guys are the ones around my work in the wild fending for themselves. They seem to get pregnant a lot but it’s only once in a blue moon one of them has a baby that survives .

I was talking to the vet I took Bugs too and she says she has even lost whole litters or baby bunnies before .

Well there you go! And here you were being so hard on yourself when our baby bunnies died. Sounds like it is a very common (still very sad).

We always had tons of bunny babies in the yard. I am sure some get picked off by coyotes (or maybe the grownups even) or whatever .The bunny quotient stayed pretty steady over the years!

Male adult cats, not fixed. Oy. Good luck, we have yet to housebreak little dog and I has been like 12 years, .He no longer poops IN the house but spraying/......? He's like a fire hose. One of his MOST obnoxious behaviors (I felt) was he would pee RIGHT ON the big dog, AS she herself, the housebroken one, was ....... I will admit to a desire to smack him around some, at that moment, but well, they can't help it,

To this day, he is a mostly outside dog .He cones in if it's too hot or too cold, and he has a special "area" unless the husband is watching him like a hawk.

Little dog is feeling better from his adventures in White Oleander. This is fortunate, because as the Supervisor of State Farm was informing me how White Oleander could not possibly be the cause, I was deeply and thoroughly imagining a meeting where I made him a deeply and special and jus enough for a Near Death Experience Tea.

He seemed like he could benefit from one. I have had one already and they are quite sobering,. He really should find out.

I did ask him if he had an motivational posters or even certificates of expertise about warrantying the dog, or even girting the dog and restoring him to aa reasonable faintly of himself once the gutting was done. He was quiet .I was like, "I am not asking you to FIX anything, I am just point out how much your housing rehoming company sucks even. State Farm seems to need someone to die for this house to be condemned, and I promise, it's not going to be ME,. It might be YOU, or it might be your adjuster but not ME."

I am glad little dog is okay because I do not know how I would suffer the son's grief. I know it is coming that day, but some of those little dogs live forever.

I also enjoy watching the gigantic troll husband (he's not that huge but appears so compared o the little dog) like interacting with him and talking to him non stop, .I SWEAR they are telepathic,. LOL. It's the cutest thing ever.

I stay out of dog land, I'm never gonna get one that believes *I* am the alpha at homme. Maybe I WILL get a pet bunny they are SO CUTE.

Such good news! There is something that draws me Archie. He looks like he would have a very interesting personality.
He is a hoot. Loads of personality but I think he has been kicked around a bit. He will swat and hiss at you in a heartbeat if he does not like what you are doing. Giving him his medication yesterday was no fun. Tight scruff and wedge the syringe in his mouth between his canine teeth. Watch the yellow foam come out if I went too fast
He has one wrinkled up ear that is pretty stiff. In my experience this happens with ear infections. His ears are clean though and no mites. He does not like having them cleaned
I am also wiping him down with hypo allergenic baby wipes because I have yet to see him groom himself and he is kind of gritty, no shiny coat. I am also brushing him daily

Here lumber is often shipped/delivered in what looks like Tyvek, Any plastic will do, though one that blocks sun's rays in summer would be preferable. Just looking for a frugal way to keep the bunnies dry, and avoid having to buy them pool noodles and water wings to stay afloat.

Plastic sheeting should go over the top of the of the canopy otherwise the rain will soak through, pool in the plastic and collapse again. Drape the plastic over the top with enough overhang so that it can be drape down the outside, then fold up under the sides so the wind can't catch it and blow it off. Secure with something like cheap binder clips...

which can be had at any box store in the stationary section. Or any other clips you may have lying around.

Trying to waterproof the fabric in the dead of winter would be quite the beech.

Hope this helps, dashing out the door for a medical appointment, will catch up later.

That one is so cute Ricky! Sorry for not commenting much anymore but rest assured I still check daily for the bunny updates. Been very busy. We just had our annual corporate meeting which was, well, riveting. And now we've had two employees quit so I'll be pulling extra weight at work until we get their shoes filled. It's something to celebrate though. They were a mess, and...well, I'll just say that being an employer is something I do not enjoy. Pays well though, and at certain times I fully understand why.

Anyway I'm here lurking. Keep it up my friend, and by the way you've got another PP donation on the way. Hope it helps in some small way. You're doing Heaven's work, friend

Tyvek is the material that used to be (is it still?) used in USPS priority mail envelopes. I guess the volume of the material orders makes the price per item much lower for the manufacturer. Used to get those mailers for free...

Thanks Zazie
Ty again for the link to the non slip dog booties. Monk’s will be here Friday :).
Himself has begged me to wait til he gets home to video the attempt to get them on, and the post wrestle first “test walk”. I’m in no mood to be an internet sensation/entertainment for the masses....but I will report back. If I survive getting them on. I have a feeling it’s going to be about like shoeing a wild mustang
