Shipping woes

In need of help understanding some of the over-priced shipping I have been seeing from some companies.

I have ran all types of businesses for my adult life so I understand that certain expenses play an effect on cost- Gotta pay 3rd party person to ship it- time it takes to package container ETC. ETC.

A 30 ML shipped from where ever shouldn't cost me $7.00-$9.00 for 3-5 day envelope mail.

I did a flat rate box the other day for 5.80 insured for 2 day priority and insured for 50 bucks.

is the 7-9$ for USPS service? or is it for another shipping service? And you are right about incidental costs concerning shipping. Wages, fuel, shipping materials ( special internal wrapping ) processing fees sometimes are all tied into the shipping costs. They are just moving costs to a specific function instead of lumping it all together on the juice price ( which then would make the juice cost seem too hi compared to the general price of juices from other companies)...

yea, your going to find a lot of wallet snatching in this industry, being it is still very young and many people are unaware of the "value" of things they are buying, juice itself costs pennies to make in the first place ya think they could throw you a bone on shipping the stuff.

I try to deal with vendors that keep things realistic, and if you search around enough you will find them.

Unless you start naming names this means nothing to me. My last two highest shipping paid were $4.00 flat rate for whatever was in the mailer - be it one bottle of a half dozen. And $7.95 because it was a charger in a non standard size OEM box that wouldn't fit the regular USPS mailers. The other 10 times or so I haven't paid any shipping because I'm well over the free shipping dollar cutoff. I don't know of any liquids vendor charging $7.00 to $9.00 to mail liquids first class rate.

Most places offer free shipping over 45-50$. Once you find a vendor you like then just stock up and get free shipping.

I've been ordering from various places recently and USPS mail has been 2-3$. Because of the snow it has been delayed with my orders from the past week. My MVP 2 was supposed to arrive Thursday and I got it yesterday (4 days late). If your looking for a juice that's sold all over, look for a website that is located near you and you'll get it faster even with the cheap shipping options. Companies that mix their juice to order can also be slower than premixed juices.

as seen on tv - the fabulous widget! it slices! it dices! and boy does it catch fish! Order now for only $.$$ plus $$.$$ processing and handling (please note it does not say shipping anymore) BUT WAIT! order now and get a second one for FREE! (just pay separate processing and handling of $$.$$)

How many of us have noticed in most cases the "processing and handling" is more than the item was to begin with?

Years ago this was a popular scam on Ebay so some sellers could avoid fees (ebay has fixed this by charging fees on entire order including shipping and handling I believe)

But I agree that most online vendors are rather reasonable with their shipping charges and on the few occasions I have had to order less than their "free shipping"" dollar requirement I sucked it up and paid (if you need it, you need it and with the price of gas now a days quite often it is cheaper to order online and pay the shipping than going out and firing up the 10mpg pickup and driving around looking for it)
