Any of the Lavatubes is better than a Twist, for a dozen reasons.
The Vector is supposed to be a 3.2amp Lavatube, but some pretty credible testing has been done, an it's not really true.
Unless vapor beast has some big coupon code happening, that's not even such a good deal.
It's o.k., and better than a Twist, but you can get a Chrome or Stainless steel kit for about the same money.
Look at these, with a year warranty, BTW. Use coupon code Vtube30 for 30% off.

That is a great deal especially with the 30% off coupon, Vapor Beast has a VVV for $69 with free shipping, in all honesty, like Dana said, I might end up getting the twist anyway.
Being that I'm still new to this, what else would you recommend I get, cartomizers? Dual coil? tanks? What size attys?

With the Lavatubes, use 3ohm for anything, cartos, clearos, attys whatever.
Don't use dual coils with the Lavatubes or the Twist. Dual coils need more than 4.5 volts and they strain your battery.
If you'd like to kill a Twist battery real fast, use a 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizer and turn it up to where it tastes nice and warm.
Use 3ohm 510 attys for either VV
I recommend 3ohm Boge Cartomizers, and a Vivi Nova V2 or V2.5 tank for maximum voltage range without battery damage.
An atomizer is included in the Vtube kit to test juice with.
The Vivi Nova comes with 3 heads. You don't need to mess with punching cartos or anything. You can get replacement heads for about $3 and they last longer than a cartomizer that goes into a tank.

Ego type batteries like the Twist have their own specially made tanks and clearomizers.
The main thing to buy for a Twist is another Twist. The 650mah only lasts 3 hours on a charge and you'll want something to use while it's charging. The 1000mah Twist lasts about 8 hours, and it's as long as your forearm, almost. It's huge.
It's longer than a Lavatube.

You'll need a spare battery for the Lavatube. $8 shipped at Orbtronic.com Panasonic CGR2250CH 2250mah.
You'll get 16-18 hours of vaping on that battery. By then, you'll have charged a Twist 5-6 times.

The Twist will be dead months before your Lavatube warranty runs out.
Something to consider when you're buying a disposable VV.

Thats great info, exactly what I need
So now a branding question
l-Rider? V-tube? Variable Voltage volt? Any clear concise difference between these?

Did you do the math? The Vector is $69 for an aluminum VV. The Aluminum Vtube is $50. The chrome one is $60. The Stainless steel one is $73. They both ship free. The Vtube comes with a year warranty and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

Two 650mah Twists are $50 plus a charger and shipping. Two 1000mah Twists are $60 plus a charger and shipping. They'll be dead in less than a year when the batteries wear out. You might get a 14 day warranty. Maybe. If you shop around.

Just to clarify.

I think I've just fallen into the natural progression of all first time vapers, love my vaping experience, find something new, love it more, spend more, question myself as to why I didn't realize sooner that I should have just gone with a vv from the start

The Vtube is made by LRider, the original manufacturer of the Lavatube. The Lavatube has become a generic name. All vendors have their own name for it. The Vector is made by a different company, a "knockoff". The "knockoff" company supposedly made some improvements over the original LRider model, but they've had some problems with it and some vendors have recalled them. I have heard nothing about the problems being corrected. The knockoffs are sometimes referred to as a version 1.5 or 1.5T or version 2. They are not really "versions" since they're all made by different companies. They originally were advertised as having a higher amp limit, but that's been disproven or at least seriously questioned. Now, you may notice that the Vector no longer claims 3.2 or 4 amps.

Until the other companies get this big mess with their knockoffs sorted out, and as long as the Vtube30 discount applies, I will only recommend the Apollo Vtube.

So, to recap: LRider is the company that made the first Lavatube/Vtube/*tube.
Variable voltage means you can changet the voltage to make the juice taste more to your liking.
Some companies have made copies of the original Lavatube/Vtube/*tube, but because of the problems with them, and the low price of the LRider version, I am no longer recommending them.

Sailorman you've been great help,
I have to say, I rather go with the lavatube, especially since the discount is in en effect, I see no reason to go with a product that although similar, continues to have problems, again, thank you so much

YW. I just think that, as a fairly new vaper, you don't need the complications of a device that may, or may not give you a serious problem when you don't need it. The Vtube performs just fine and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Just remember to pick up a spare battery. The Panasonic I mentioned is very good and only $8. If you get anything else on the Apollos site, you can use the code "dad20" for 20% off. I don't know if you can use both codes in the same order, but if you can't, just make two orders since they ship free anyway.

Can someone recommend the cheapest place to buy vivi novas from? Never used a tank system so not sure I would go with those. Oh and 3ohm Boge Cartomizers--best place to get?
Thanks.

Boge cartomizers: 3 packs of 5 for $20 shipped, plus a couple free drip tips at Crystalclearvaping.com
Or.... 5 packs for $23 shipped at Surevapes.com

Vivi Nova: You have to check for availability. Get version 2 or 2.5. I prefer version 2. Version 2.5 has longer wicks, but I think the shorter wicks work better. Some places run out real quick. The price only varies by a few bucks, so check for price of replacement heads or some other accessory, like a metal tank if you vape juices that crack polycarbonate.
The Vivi Nova is a fantastic tank and very simple. You just unscrew the top and pour the juice in. It's easier than filling a carto. These sites have had them in the recent few days:
Hoosierecigsupply.com
Madvapes.com
Surevapes.com - (also get Boge cartos there)
Gotvapes.com

i'm getting a "lavatube clone" in the mail from ecigcharleston.com soon. it supposedly has a 3.9 amp switch. hopefully its good!

Might want to see the Lavatube forum. These claims of 3.2 and 4 amps have been seriously questioned and some vendors have quit making the claim in light of the evidence. Props to Vapor Beast for removing the 4 amp claim from his site.

Thanks, sailorman. I bought the 5 pack boge for $23 a little while back but did not think they were 3ohm. And here is a dumb question: do you put the cartos in the vivi nova tank? Or is it just fill and go? And where to get metal tank? Not sure if you mean the vivi nova comes with a metal tank or how that works. Also, can you explain what the replacement heads do/are for?
Sorry, am so flooded by info I get easily confused.

No, the Vivi Nova has it's own heating element and wick. So you don't need a cartomizer. You just fill it and go. The metal tanks are an extra accessory (about $4) that you can get to replace the clear tank. They come in colors and won't crack with some juice, like clear plastic tanks do sometimes. So, if you like to vape cinnamon or citrus juice, or some cola or other high acid juices, you can use a metal tank and save the plastic one.

The Vivi Nova comes with 3 heads. Those are little parts, like mini-atomizers, with a wick and a coil. They screw onto a post in the tank. The kit comes with 1.8ohm, 2.4ohm and 2.8ohms. You can buy extra ones in case they burn out or if you just want extras of a certain resistance. They also cost about $3 or so.

The best pictures are at Gotvapes.com. If you go there, you can see all the parts and the assembled tank and it will all make more sense. The one they sell is the Version 2.5 with longer wicks. All the other sites have the Version 2 with the shorter wicks. So, just go to Gotvapes to see the best pictures, but check the prices at the other sites.

aww man! well hopefully it's something better than the 2.5 amp I hope. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
