So my mom says my dad MUST quit smoking. Either that, or she will throw him out of the house on doctors orders; either that or she'll finally kill him.

He smokes one to two packs of cheap little cigars (stinky - like burning turkey feathers!!) from the Indian shop. He said he doesn't want to bother with all the fidling I seem to be doing with my e-cig - attatching atties to batts, filling carts, experimenting with juice flavors, replacing parts, doing mods. Basically all the stuff that we vapers enjoy. LOL

He just wants to take one out of a pack, stick it in his mouth and blow smoke. Cheap price is also a consideration. Concerning throat hit, vapor and flavor "I'll just have a *&#$%* cigarette. Why should I f**k with that silly stuff?"

So don't give me logic and good advice on research and buying. He won't listen anyways. I love my 902, but that would be a no go for him. What is a good, cheap, closest to an anlog in both vape and useage?

Blu seems to be the closest to take it out of the pack and go, but my concern is will it satisfy his need to smoke? And can we get him started for less money?

Any recomendations?

Thanks,
~A

I think that the 2 piece cartomizer style such as greencig, Kr808D, or V4L would be best for him. Those PV's have only the battery and a combined cart and atomizer. If he doesn't want to mess with refilling, when it's empty just pop on a new cartomizer. Welcome to NHaler! has both the greencig and Kr808D and now has greencig cartomizers loaded with his own e-liquids that will give a good choice of flavors. He also carries the greencig cigar which lasts much longer than the e-cigs.

I too recommend a two piece system. My mother sounds a lot like your Dad. She has been smoking for over 30 years, about half a pack a day. I performed my intervention last weekend. I gave her a Vapor King to start with a fresh 24mg cart and told her how to draw on it, but she drew too hard and coughed. That was a big set back. The problem I have with the vapor king is that until you get the hang of it you can draw too hard and get a painful throat hit with little to no vapor.

After that she was totally turned off to the vapor king even though I felt it was the best option. I got her to at least try my 510 and she was and still is very tenative on drawing from it. :( She will keep trying but I wish I spent more time teacher her how to draw from an e-cig and I wish I had started her on a much lower mg before letting her try because I feel like it set her up to not like it.

Just hoping to share my mistakes...

I don't know if this will be of any help but when I had the intention of helping my friend quit smoking I asked her what she like about smoking. She told me that she did not like strong cigarettes, she did not like the throat hit. So I got her an 801 with an automatic battery and prefilled carts. Ordered the kit from china and got it really cheap. Once she started to use it she said that she really liked it and she even started to fill her own carts.

I can appreciate the simplicity of cartomizers and if your dad is really stead fast in that he would not want to fool with refilling carts that might be the best option but you are limiting yourself to what the refills are. With blank carts, he could put anything into them. That why I suggest either a 901 or 510 for your dad, start him out with prefilled carts and you might just see him enjoy them so much that for him to fill a cart might not be such a big deal. If he is big into a strong tobacco I would suggest a manual battery.

I know exactly where your Dad is coming from..I used to smoke 40+ of those little cigars per day and have been vaping now for about a month and smoke maybe 4 analogs per day..I tried vaping out of curiosity really and found it instantly rewarding..Your Dad is probably like me and will need something that, when he picks it up and hits it,it had better deliver..The absolute best device I have found is the RN4062 ecigar,it vapes like a monster, has a big cart and batt to get the job done and it is really cool looking..I also like the DSE601 pipe,if he likes pipes at all..He would probably like the disposable cigars as well..Good luck and best wishes to Dad and you, hopefully your Mom won't knock him off...lol... :)

White? Really?

Anyway, do you know of anything that he really likes the taste of? Hypothetically, he really loves the taste of banana. Order a small sample of banana juice for yourself, and have him take a couple puffs. Maybe he'll enjoy the taste of that so much, and then realize he can get his fix from "bananas".

You won't get someone who doesn't want to quit to quit by getting them a shiny new PV, but you may get someone who doesn't want to quit to quit by introducing them to something they enjoy more than a cigarette.

I think a VK or any other 808 would be a good thing to get him started on. If he likes it enough, introduce him to something a little more high maintenance. Filling carts might give him more of a sense of satisfaction later on down the road.

Who sells a disposable e-cigar? That might be a way to get him started without much intial outlay.

theelectroniccigarettecompany dot com has them for $30..I've never tried one but have watched several reviews on them, all favorable..You can also get them straight from China of course, but takes forever to arrive.
