Take the connector off of the GG collector tank.

Attach the collector tank with out connector to the telescopic tube.

Attach Ody w/GG base to the collector tank as designed.

You end up with a shorter GGTS w/Ody.

If you decide to try this your battery will not be protected from any leakage if it occurs, please be careful.

i been thinking of this poppa, but aint got round to it. the issue here is possible leaks from oddy flooding and seeping over the battery. another is battery failure and possible gas leakage.

i have nylon button out the wifes sewing kit which fits snug into the bottom of the collector tank, but i got to file a ridge around the middle so a o-ring can be fitted, and put a rivet through the center for the possitive pole. this will of course add 2 to 3 mm to the length but i wouldn't be comfortable using it unsealed.

does look as sexy as it gets like that tho Poppa

it works.

Often the threads of different GG items are incompatible, its interesting when things work together that weren't intended to, with out any altering modifications.

For instance if the tank parts of the Ody had the same threads as the GGTS and the parts could be interchanged, many different assemblies could be made, with both devices.

If you have leakage, replace the connector, wipe off your battery, and no harm done.

i have used poppa's idea
i think that to use air control, have to put something into the tank ,
out of contol air leak

I think if you add another small o ring to the inside of the Ody center post so that it is shorter on the outside (protrudes less) the battery itself will complete the air seal.

It would probably be easier to stack an Oring on top of the battery to make the seal. If the Ody did leak the liquid could be swabbed out with a tissue, and it wouldn't necessarily soak the insides of the GG.

I just tried this out and found it to be interesting, if you use it and like it please post any observations that you have made. Its just another way to use the GGTS in a different fashion, it works.

The serious concerns inspired me to revisit this thread and find a way to seal off the battery and provide an air seal as the GG tank is designed to do.
I used a SS carriage bolt that fit in battery side of the control tank, a neoprene washer, and an o ring to do this.

I cut the threaded shank off of the bolt, leaving the square portion, which I ground down a little shorter.
I assembled it with the washer on the squared side of the bolt head. The o ring holds it in place and provides a seal against battery fumes.

I assembled it in the control tank, square side to the Ody, and rounded side to the battery. This way either button top or flat top batteries will connect.

It works, with a $2.90 investment, and a half an hour of effort, a grinder, and a cut off disc.
The Ody w/GG base is sealed off from the batteries, and the shorter GGTSw/Ody should be safe to use even if the Ody leaks.
