So, I'm in the process of ordering up parts to build an ultra-short mech mod to use with a KFL+.

Vapemail en route includes:
4nine mech mod (which I believe is one of the shortest mods currently available)
EHPro KFL+
Kayfun nano body kit (smoke colored tank)
Custom Kayfun top cap (which should replace the top metal ring in the nano body kit & eliminate the drip tip protrusion)

Any thoughts/ideas on how I could reduce the length any further?

~Thanks...

I'm playing with reducing the size of mini Protank 2 clearos myself, by rethreading the center post and cutting the Pyrex glass tank in two. It shortens the clearo by 15 mm. with the drip tip off, the clearo is still perfectly functional, and that takes another 15-so mm off too. But cutting Pyrex glass is a lot .....ier than I expected, and the one I managed to do without breaking ended up with ragged edges and leaks. I'm looking at getting pre-cut tubes at the moment.

sounds like you got it covered.i dont think you can get much smaller than that with a kayfun. have you messed with the 4nine mod yet?

So, I live overseas (in Asia) & ordered all this stuff (and a bunch more) shipped to my Dad's place in USA. He's received like 5 packages of vapemail with another 5 or 6 still on the way to him. I'll be there May 16th, so I have to wait to lay hands on all my new goodies.

Between my original post & now, I've decided on a different direction...or maybe call it a different option.

Kayfun Fused Quartz Nano tank Kit
Kayfun Custom Top Cap V2 SS

Hard to tell for sure, but I think this will end up being a bit shorter.

I also have an original Russian (not a 91%) that'll be the beneficiary of the 'odd man out' from these nano kits, so nothing goes to waste.

I'll come back & update this once I get everything in my hands & put together...unfortunately it'll be about 3 weeks from now.

I just set up my Quartz Quartz Nano Kit on Kayfun with Bling Magneto Mod at shortest setting.jpg nano kit and I am in tank nirvana!! I do not have the shorter top yet but I will be ordering it.

It looks beautiful and where my metal tank used to seep a little at the connection to my mod no matter what the setting on my airflow this one leaves my connection dry as a bone!

Check out this top cap too. I don't know if it's shorter than the top cap you linked to, but I can say that its definitely shorter than the standard top cap by a fair amount.

It looks a lot cooler too. I have 2 of them. They work great, but sometimes can be hard to take off. They will also work great with a EHPro KFL+ v2 and a nano kit (the EHPRO with not fit with a nano kit with the standard top cap - at least neither of mine will fit).

But nearly impossible to get, especially if you're opposed to waiting on Facebook day and night for an announcement that an incredibly small run is now open for the next 3 minutes until everything is gone.

Nano makes a very similar top cap that's available.

I use the SS2 top cap from there and can say they're awesome. The only downside is they can be a bear to get off.

I got a nano kit recently, just to have something a bit smaller to take out-and-about, but I'm really disappointed with it. Even with the exact same coil and cotton wick that worked marvelously all day long in the regular size kayfun, from the nano I get burnt taste about every-other hit. Can't see how it's a dry hit, since the wick is actually in a "cotton nest" that keeps the whole thing completely soaked, but with the full size kayfun and that cotton nest, I was running it at 8.5w and having zero burnt taste. Put on the nano kit, with the same exact coil/wick, turn it down to 8w, burnt taste. Turn down to 7.5w, burnt taste. Turn down to 7w, just tolerable.

Maybe I need to use silica/ekowool when I use the nano; when I was rebuilding my T3S coils, I couldn't use cotton; those small heads focus the heat so much, cotton burns in a nanosecond, so I use silica or ekowool, which don't burn so easily.

Sorry you are having problems with your nano kit. I picked this one up a few weeks ago and love it.
Kayfun Nano Kit by EHPRO - Eciggity

I have another regular sized Kayfun and both perform fantastic with cotton wicks.

Hmm... I think what I may have to do is just buy another Kayfun, so I can keep one coil/wick for the full sized, and one for the nano, wicked with ekowool. Because cotton is sure not working for me with the nano, though it works great in the full sized.
