Great to hear you've found "part" of you solution! I've been vaping for a month today and went through heavy chest very noticably the first week. As I've continued to read the forums I discovered the nic-fix without inhaling. It's a bit tough to get in the habit of, but it has helped me a great deal. When I NEED to vape for the nic-fix, but I'm vaping a lot and start to feel heavy chest, I concentrate on the switch until my craving has subsided.

Draw the vapor into your mouth and hold, then exhale through your nose. The membranes of your mouth and nose absorb the nicotine more readily than your lungs, so you get past the craving without over tiring your lungs.

It takes practice! But it has helped me stay away from the analogs and that's the whole reason to start vaping to begin with. Best of luck!!

My Pulmonary doctor couldn't believe it when I told him we were vaping VG. He said don't do it...ever, as it's like coating the lungs with oil. He was amazed. For a simple little experiment I put one drop of VG on one finger and one drop of PG on another finger on the other had and then rubbed those fingers together with their cooresponding thumbs. Oh Lord....the VG was so much thicker and stickier than the PG.

I sure wish there was a 3rd option we could use as a base for these juices.

Everyone wants their cake and eat it too when it comes to vaping. We all wish that this was not doing any damage. My initial reaction to what your DR said is to panic, but then again, cigarettes are full with Tar and all other crap. Ever smoke in side? Ever see the walls, and just how gross they are from years of smoke? Pretty bad.

I enjoyed smoking. I wanted to stop cause I knew it wasnt healthy. I wish I could be those social smokers who only have a couple here and there. I cant. But I can when I vape.

Its probably not healthy for you to vape. The question is, what the heck does it do to you long term.

VG is water-soluble, so it's far from being like oil. Of course, there are no long term studies evaluating what (if any) effect vaping this stuff has on health, but I'm much, much more concerned about what I'm inhaling on any city street (carbon monoxide, various oxides of nitrogen, ozone, etc.). At any rate, if you must "smoke" something, odds are that e-cigs are better than cigarettes, which are full of known toxins and carcinogens.

I was a 2 PAD smoker of local 'reservation smokes' - I gag on 12mg...depending on atty/carto - I've ALWAYS had short breath...cept the 2 weeks I was absolutely smoke free, vaping doesn't seem to be that forgiving for me in that dept.

Hopefully it's just taking a little time.

I've seen an amazing difference although not a full turn around. Can't say I expect to since I'm still pulling "something" into my lungs other than clean, good air. And I anticipant further improvement as I cut my nic back and have that really bad habit of smoking behind me far enough to be able to vape "on occasion". My target for a real health improvement self-evaluation is three months and then again at one year. But for one month . . . I'm VERY pleased with results.

I took a walk today that included a set of stairs, while in conversation, and when we got to our destination I wasn't winded! It was as if I was 20 years younger!! Woohoo!!
