I'm in the same boat. Quit vaping because of it . Constant 24 7 need to take a deep breath is what I feel. It's better and worse at different times of the day . Doctors check was fine , ekg , x ray , pulmonary tests oxygen levels normal. It's 3 months since no vaping. I would have hope it went away but no and I'm still short of breath . Started cardio training 2 weeks 4 times a week. I would say it's gotten better slightly. I hope I am no doomed.... also I am still thirsty a lot like when I was vaping . God knows

To describe my symptom more .. I have air hunger . I'll catch my breath but within 30-45 seconds I'll be trying to take another deep breath .. no pain no cough no phlegm . Can do cardio for long . The symptoms are mainly at rest .

Damn you making me scared
Even after 3 months no recovery ?
Or is it something other than vaping which is giving you health issues

Nobody knows mate. I'm 26 male , smoked pack a day for 7 years , quit and chain vaped for 2 years . Towards the end of the 2 years I started having air hunger but it would go away for a few days and come back . Then it eventually came 24 7. So I quit . Doctors say it's anxiety . I kind of believe it cause I am pretty stressed and stuff and when I do breathing exercises such as 7 -11 method I feel less air hungry after it . My doctor says it'll go away on its own hope its right
Also I think about smoking cigarettes every day even tIll now. I even want to start smoking again hoping it gets rid of this "anxiety"

Have you get checked for Asthama?
Don't start smoking at all
It will do more damage.
Wish you get well soon

Yes as I said I had a pulmonary function test which includes asthma and all was good
My theory is that chain vaping for as long as I did , changed the way I take breaths naturally and now I have to somehow retrain myself back to normal .

Oh i c
You mean vaping change our breathing habbits
I dont chain vape by the way
I vape when i feel the urge for nicotine.
Just take 8-12 drags whenever i need it
Like after every 1 or 2 hour

You're pretty young, exercise, smoked for no so such a long time and your doctors don't seem too worry suggesting that oxygenation, lung functions are just fine. Also, since you stopped vaping and still have these symptoms, I speculate that is rather not directly linked to vapor exposure. Anxiety can lead to "air hunger" the feeling of not being able to get a satisfying breath, indeed. If someone over-breathe for a prolonged period of time, then the body get use to it until increased breathing volume of air is perceived as "normal", resulting to a constant feeling of short of breath unless big breaths/yawn are taken. This feeling may feel even worse at rest as the heart rate and the breathing frequency and volume slow down. I suppose that over breathing vapor for a prolonged period of time may lead to similar symptoms. I found this link which might help you http://www.buteykobreathing.org/ButeykoDiary.pdf. There is probably some
