I'm not sure if all the shorty batteries I have are like this..I have 4-5 of the old version (new ones on the way) but I think from the ones I tried..they are very airy..like when puffing on it there is a lot of airflow and you have to puff really hard just to keep the LED lit or activate the e-cig. Does anyone else have this problem with the old version ones?

I had the same issue with the older shorties. Try this:

1. Look at the "ash cap" and you will see two little vents, right where it meets the battery tube. Cover one of those with your finger to see if that helps. If you like that, skip down to #3.

2. Take a round wooden toothpick and stick the tip in one of the little air holes just under the threads on the battery connector. Break it off and then use a fingernail or something to make sure its in there good & tight. Put a carto on it and try again, with and without doing #1.

3. Fill in one of those "ash cap" vents. You can use gel super glue or whatever you like. Or you can remove the "ash cap" to fill it in however you wish. Just grab it gently with a pair of pliers, twist & pull to get it out. It will push in with your fingers and stay nicely.

Hope this helps.

Not to jack the thread, but I read somewhere that the new shorty's have a different draw? Anyone know about this?

I had one of the original ones, but never could get used to the "airy" draw (also couldn't get it to charge), so he sacrificed his battery connector for a mod. But I do like the shorty-ness, and am thinking about getting another one ---- especially if manuals come in!!

When these original shorties are working right I find they produce more vapor than any other battery. Anyone know why? Like the shorty blows away the XL auto battery and the reg size.

Are the new shorties huge vapor producers like the original?
I thought I was the only one who felt that. I definitely like the short automatics better than the long manuals. For me, they also last longer.

I wouldn't think a short auto should last longer than an xl manual!! Maybe you have a bum xl.

Possibly, but I have 3 XL manuals. None of them perform as well as the short automatics. The XL's have also died rather quickly, and I have had to replace them. I have not had to replace the short ones. Your assessment makes sense. It just has not turned out that way for me.
