Should I be concerned about my current vendor requesting mis-shipped juice being shipped back?

If I was a vendor and I sent something wrong I'd let the customer keep it and then ship the right items. It's good service, and the customer would be singing my praises thus giving me free word of mouth.

I guess I have bad luck vendors always seem to get my stuff right:(

Pretty good point about DIY, I don't make many single flavor juices, but no good reason why someone can't. And if the mood strikes you, you can mix your already mixed juice for giggles.

When I started vaping I was getting my second surgery in 6 months, so money was tight, I learned DIY and rebuilding out of necessity. Not a bad idea to do either one though, the things I had to learn have served me well. And when you DIY, you always know what is in your juice, and how it was made.

Is it possible they want the juice for QC reasons? I mean, maybe there is some identifier on the package as to who filled the order, so they can see who screwed it up. As to vendors selling in pre-sealed containers...that does not prevent resale of the e-liquid...it only prevents re-sale of the same liquid in the same vessel.

I seriously doubt this vendor is doing this to recycle the juice. It will likely cost them more in re-shipping and additional handling of the juice than they will recover for resale.

I used to use Vapor God until I got some of their liquid that turned to gel. Yup turned to gel. They did everything but call me a liar and told me it was normal. Sorry Vapor God, it is not normal and never happened before this one or after. I have had numerous vendors go the extra mile and tell me to keep the mistake and go out of their way to make sure the experience is good.....I had to ask Vapor God's emailer to never email me again and that they were a vendor.....not my customer. :?:

I'd ship it back, cancel my order and not order from them again. Not a business that I'd want to do business with. There is no reason to ask you to send it back, unless they were going to ship it back out. Even if the bottles are sealed, there is no reliable way to be sure that they were not tampered with. Just my two cents. Good luck and have fun!

Your reply confirms I am not crazy. They didn't specifically request it back, but I mentioned something about sending it back and they said they would send prepaid postage along with my correct order. Perhaps I will from now on deal only with vendors (I'll check out Mountain Oaks!) who ship in sealed bottles.

To twg,

They correctly shipped my order at their usual slow rate, and it is all here correct. They did however give me a prepaid envelope to ship the 3 bottles of juice back in.

For the record, it sounds like you asked about shipping it back, not the vendor. They may be just trying to do what you asked about, rather than telling you to keep something you didnt want. Unless I didn't understand that correctly.

Bunch of heavy opinions. A few that sound concerned for others health, but then PIF:blink:
A few even sound plain greedy.
The Law was written to prevent persons from receiving unwanted product and being forced to pay Suppliers assumed Value. Scam operations. It was in no way meant to rob venders through a simple labeling mistake.

Returning at their expense is proper.
They need verification
Government Requires proof of damaged/defective product for business write of, even if they never look at the items.

I placed as $30 order from a very reputable Forum supplier. I received a package containing over $200 in merchandise, including e-liquids. I immediately contacted the vender and 2 days later my order, with a prepaid return packaging arrived.
Hopefully the person in Cali. did the same an all was sorted.

Where is this - Support your US Small business owners I keep hearing every one scream about? :glare:

If people are looking for validation to keep something not ethically gained.......sorry, I can't help. The wallet would belong to the person who lost it, not the one who found it.(ethically)

I just dont see the the big deal with sending it back its not like they are not making the mistake right. I dont worry much about the mistakes I judge people on how they deal with their mistakes.

If all of the people who hold the venders to perfect standards, are them selves perfect in their job performance please contact me. If I had a crew of perfect people who never made mistakes we could make alot of money together!

I think its a two way street. you should be a good customer and vendors will in turn treat you right. Meeting a mistake with patience and a opportunity for them to make it right in most cases will leave both party's with a satisfied experience.

OK, this is turning into a vendor bashing thread and that's not allowed in this section because they can not respond here. Vendors/suppliers can only post in their thread or in reviews.

If you have an issue with a particular vendor, please post in their forum/thread or in negative reviews.
