so my riva kit came yesterday, charged up the new XL battery for exactly 8 hours, as instructed on this forum, then followed these steps, and now, with a drip tip on an atty that came with the kit (from liberty-flights.com), I am seeing very little vapor. I have put in PG and VG, no difference. I can't say its not producing vapor; it produces enough vapor to see if I don't inhale...If I just take a drag and keep it in my mouth, I can see and taste the vapor, but the second I inhale it, I exhale barely a whisp...

I'm going to put the battery back on the charger for an hour, then try again with the same atty and a different new one and compare. On the site linked above, it didn't mention anything about decreased vapor production, so I guess my question: is it normal to have this happen on a brand new atty? I know about the bad taste from my last go round, but this just seems like a ....ty atty to me...

Thanks

Oh, and Merry Christmas

Aiden

I've got the riva kit and added a drip tip from LF too
did you blow atty out into a napkin to remove primer ?
have you tried one of the other atties ?
There was a lr atty in the cartridge box too
try a short dry burn after blow out
something SHOULD work..good luck + Merry Christmas

EDIT..just found a video that will help; it's on a thread
"Who has a Joye EGO and what do you think?"
go to #10 for the video..dummy me; link won't work

Sounds like you might have put too many drops in the atty. I would take it off and blow it out real well. When you're dripping you should start by priming the atty with 3-4 drops. It may take a couple of puffs to get it going. When the flavor changes and vapor production goes down, add a couple more drops to the atty. New attys sometimes need a little breaking in, but be patient and it'll work out!

Happy Holidays!

Yeah, I blew the atty out, added 4 drops of juice, took 6-7 drags, blew out the juice, added 4 drops of juice, took 6-7 drags, blew out juice, added three drops and vaped using a drip tip, and still limited vapor...

I ordered a couple extra LR attys, but I believe my kit just came with two normal 510 attys. how can you tell the difference?

And why isn't my atty working?? I need to quit analogs so bad.

yeah that could be it i guess. I did blow it out really hard after going thru the steps on the linked thread. my last hour of charging is almost up, so I'll try it again. I'm kinda bummed...

There might be a stamp on the connection that says "LR." If there isn't, then you might not be able to tell because they look identical. My LR attys are silver and my standard attys are black and that's how I tell them apart. It keeps it simple.

Thanks for the advice. Finally working a bit, still not great tho. I was using PG vanilla flavored juice from LF, and now am breaking in the other normal 510 atty that came with the kit. Using VG RY2 from LF and immediately getting better vapor, but much less of a TH. Probably due to the VG vs PG, and neither taste very good yet. I'm going to try to break in the other 4 attys that came with it (2 normal, 2 LR) and report back (it'll probably be much later tonight). I'm excited to be back, but so far not as awesome as I was hoping...

I feel ya. I slapped a brand new atty on my passthru tonight and noticed the draw was a lot tuffer than it should be. This was the second of my batch of Eastmall brand 510 attys. Neither showed to have any primer on the tissue when I blew them out fresh out of the wrapper. The 1st one worked like a dream, the second one, seemed to burn to cool and had the hard draw. I blew all the liquid out of both, soaked them in hot water 3 times, blowing the water out between each soaking. Now they're in an emptied instant rice mesh bag hanging on the clothesline outside to dry. I'll leave them there till tomorrow evening, then do a couple of 3-4 second dry burns on each and see how they perform afterwards.

Right now, I'm getting by with one of my cartomizers.

Straight PG isn't going to produce much vapor, so you really answered your own question. LOL! VG is what produces the vapor. Your sense of smell and taste are also going to be off for a while until they recover from smoking. I'll give you a heads up while I'm at it...you will probably go through what I've started calling "flavor cycling." You go through periods where your sense of taste is great and then all the sudden it seems to disappear again. It'll come back again and we all go through these cycles. The same thing can happen if you vape the same flavor for an extended period of time. You haven't really lost the ability to taste, but you've become adjusted to it and it just seems like it lost the taste. You might also lose taste sensations when you have a cold or the flu because your nose is runny or stuffed up. Taste is directly linked to smell.

There's your mini science lesson for the day! Now go vape your head off. I'll be looking forward to the post you make once your taste buds recover. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

haha thanks professor! Yeah vaped my head off yesterday, finally think I broke most of my attys in, although still not producing as much vapor as I've seen on some videos: this guy gets like 10 mins straight of beautiful vapor with no drop in performance. Even with my straight VG I don't get that sort of vapor production...

Anyway, off to work. Let's see how my co-workers take to me vaping in the office...

I get a lot of vapor using a joye 510 cartomizer with 50 PG/50 VG juice on my Riva.
Yeah I just ordered some mega (or XL; don't know which) cartos should be here in a few days. The vapor production has definitely gotten better since I've been breaking in these attys. I'm not super impressed because I feel like I'm smoking an ultra light...the only thing that lets me know that I'm inhaling anything is the vapor I exhale; I'm getting no throat hit at all and can barely taste any flavor at all. Im vanilla pg, double mint pg, and ry2 vg, all from liberty-flights, and on both regular and LR 510 attys on my Riva and barely any taste or throat hit. I'm smoking to near nausea because its not fulfilling my craving of inhaling smoke.

I ordered some juices from gourmetvapor.com, with triple flavor and 70/30 pg/vg, so I'm hoping those flavors will start coming thru. I hope my taste buds come back I'm really not amped on this pv stuff yet...
