Your sense of taste will change a lot over the next several months. Your taste buds have been affected from years of smoking; they'll heal but it will take some time. As they heal, you'll find that some flavors taste good while others do not. A few months from now, that may all change.

There is also a phenomenon known as Vaper's Tongue. Vaper's Tongue: What is it and what can be done?

If you simply add additional juice to your tank, it will mix with the older e-liquid already in the tank. Not all components of e-liquid gets vaporized, so the surplus remains in the tank. This surplus of "stuff" mixes with the new e-liquid and the taste results can become complicated. It may appear to be wasteful, but I empty and clean my tanks after a couple of tankfulls of juice. Why ruin an entire tank full of juice with what remains from the old juice to save a few ml's of e-liquid?

Factory-made coils need to be replaced about every 2 - 3 weeks. Usually, you'll notice a drop off in flavor, a burnt taste, or flooding of the coil.

You didn't say if you've cleaned the tank and coil. If you haven't, that's your first place to start. Empty the tank, rinse it out, rinse the coil and wick and then dry burn it. Then fill it up with eliquid and try it again. The first few minutes will be the remainder of the water burning off but after that, it should taste good. If not, that's when you replace your coil.
