I currently use the vivi nova and I wonder if the Kanger T2 or T3 are comparable in quality, taste. I'm especially interested in the T3 because it is a bottom head design, so it might wick better since the head is always submerged in liquid.

Anyone who's used both the vivi and Kanger, please tell me what you think of the two. Should I give Kanger a try?

The t2 is warmer, being a top coil but may not keep up, depending on your wattage. Too me it seems like something better suited to 3.7-4.2 v and you have to get used to tipping it upside down. If you go higher, the t3 offers a better solution. You can adjust the wick and take away some of the silicone rings above and below the wick depending on how fast you vape and how thin/thick your juice is.

The only problem with the t3 is it does darken the juice as you vape and can get a little gurgly below 1/4 filled

Is the Kanger EVOD basically a T3 with a metal cover?

They are smaller. For those times you don't need an all day sucker. The wick is closer so there are the obvious slight differences in taste and heat. The evod also comes mainly in 1.8ohms. At least at most of the vendors I see them at. Maybe it's the preference of the vendors and who buys them but I mostly see 1.8ohms with 2.5 replacements being available. With the t3, the 2.5ohms seem the most widely available. I really only see the 1.8 along side the kanger tabac. Which is really confusing because it appears Kanger built a clone of it's very own t3.

And the Kanger T3 doesn't use a wick? I don't see any wick in pics.

It sits below the metal band. Can't see it in the pictures. See the pictures of the replacement heads.

With a T2, you can easily find 1.5, 1.8, 2.2, and 2.5 ohm coil units for a dollar each, and replacement mouthpieces for around two fifty. As Cool Breeze said, they are filled from the top, so you don't necessarily have to take it off your battery. They can be cleaned a quite few times, too. However, after 4-5 refills of dark liquid with no cleaning between refills, I was left with a half ml of dark sludge that had to be tossed. After doing that twice, I had clogged the wick and needed a new coil unit. Cheap learning experience. Now when I use the really dark liquids, I clean it after 2-3 partial refills. There are different methods for cleaning and all have been described and/or put on you-tube, look it up after you decide on your clearo of choice. I suggest getting some grain alcohol in there somewhere in the cleaning process.

Preferences on clearomisers are as subjective as e-liquid flavors. If you can afford it, buy all of them - only way to know for sure.
Too bad the Scottish don't make vape supplies, then I could just say "If it's not Scottish, it's crap!":p

I prefer a bottom feeder which the T3 is, its a cooler vape.

but thats just me..

I don't have or want a T3, but I have to agree that having the coil an inch or less from you lips seems a bit too close. The T2 can be a pretty warm vape for sure. To the OP, just get both or be left with your original question in the back of your mind. It's all subjective, like the e-liquid flavors. Battery and mod performance should be the only things worth arguing about, but even that can be subjective even with the scientific facts to deal with. Best of luck!

I just got my first MT3 today, along with a Vision VIVI Nova. I have been using T2's for a couple of months, truth is I like them all. T2's are a little cheaper, and so are the replacement heads, and they fill from the top. I got the MT3, along with the nova svt, both have metal covers over the tank.

As for the wick, the T3 has a very short wick, barely sticks out the side, but since the coil is at the bottom you don't need a long wick. T2 replacement heads have a super long wick, so tipping hasn't been necessary for me with the replacement heads.

I would say give the T3 a try, not an expensive device, so if you don't like it you aren't out much. Mine vapes good, but I have only had it for one day.

i currently own several T2s, actually a knock off sold by a local store. they are really marked up, as are the wicks, so im looking to find a vendor that sells them at a reasonable price. i'm considering switching to the T3. i'm new to all of this, so I have a few questions on maintenance.

besides replacing the wick, what else do you have to replace? i see people have mentioned coils, so far i havent had any of mine stop working, aside from completely burning through a wick. how often do you clean out the tanks, and what's the best way to do it? i had a horrible flavor in one and cant seem to get it out of the tank after washing it with warm water and letting it dry several times.

i'm looking for something that isnt very difficult to maintain, or learn to maintain, and doesnt require lots of routine maintenance.

Coil replacement is more advanced and unnecessary. It's more money savings and a big learning curve and something you'll probably try sooner or later.

All you need to do is replace the coil heads. As far as cleaning, find a high proof vodka or PGA. After rinsing in water first, let the hardware soak for a night. Then let it dry. Use the button on your battery to burn off any crud left on the coil. Pulse it until the coil glows nice and red, isn't smoking and the wicks look clean. Should get rid of any old flavor.

Since this person is new, this may be a little too much, and on the T3, you can't even see the coils without a little disassembly.
But if you're mechanical, it's super easy.

After you take the bottom coil portion out of the tank and have rinsed and soaked it, here's the routine for the T3.
You must remove the airshaft on the head.
By head, I mean the threaded part where the wick is.
You'll remove the silicone washer and then just pull the shaft out.
Then you can see the 2 flavor wicks on top of the coil.
Remove these and clean them with a lighter.
Hold them with tweezers and run the lighter under them, you'll be amazed when they just turn white again.

They are made of glass, you can't burn them.
Now, on to the main wick and coil.
Unless you're going to re-wick, which is very easily done, you can just dry burn it clean.

A lot of people are re-wicking with cotton or hemp, and that's great, but you can't dry burn either of those.
Put the head on your battery and pulse the power button until it starts smoking.
Keep doing that until the smoke stops and you see the coils glow nice and red/orange.
Some people rinse again after this, to remove any crud that was burned off.

Replace your clean flavor wicks and press the airshaft back on.
Don't forget the silicone washer/spacer.

I've never soaked my tanks in vodka or PGA, I just rinse them with hot water, after I've gone through 3ml's of juice.
Fill it, shake it, fill it, shake it, et cetera.

Get it as dry as you can by shaking it towards the floor quickly.
Fill it with juice.
Put on your newly cleaned head.
Turn right side up, and let it sit for a minute.

I find that dry hitting it lightly without firing it helps to load the wicks.
You can see the small bubbles.
Hit it lightly the first time and vape on.
