Use the button on your battery to burn off any crud left on the coil. Pulse it until the coil glows nice and red, isn't smoking and the wicks look clean. Should get rid of any old flavor.
Since this person is new, this may be a little too much, and on the T3, you can't even see the coils without a little disassembly.
But if you're mechanical, it's super easy.
After you take the bottom coil portion out of the tank and have rinsed and soaked it, here's the routine for the T3.
You must remove the airshaft on the head.
By head, I mean the threaded part where the wick is.
You'll remove the silicone washer and then just pull the shaft out.
Then you can see the 2 flavor wicks on top of the coil.
Remove these and clean them with a lighter.
Hold them with tweezers and run the lighter under them, you'll be amazed when they just turn white again.
They are made of glass, you can't burn them.
Now, on to the main wick and coil.
Unless you're going to re-wick, which is very easily done, you can just dry burn it clean.
A lot of people are re-wicking with cotton or hemp, and that's great, but you can't dry burn either of those.
Put the head on your battery and pulse the power button until it starts smoking.
Keep doing that until the smoke stops and you see the coils glow nice and red/orange.
Some people rinse again after this, to remove any crud that was burned off.
Replace your clean flavor wicks and press the airshaft back on.
Don't forget the silicone washer/spacer.
I've never soaked my tanks in vodka or PGA, I just rinse them with hot water, after I've gone through 3ml's of juice.
Fill it, shake it, fill it, shake it, et cetera.
Get it as dry as you can by shaking it towards the floor quickly.
Fill it with juice.
Put on your newly cleaned head.
Turn right side up, and let it sit for a minute.
I find that dry hitting it lightly without firing it helps to load the wicks.
You can see the small bubbles.
Hit it lightly the first time and vape on.
