Should we be allowed to vape anywhere?

Should we be allowed to vape in the movie theater? What about at the mall? Or in the grocery store?

I think not. Personally, I can see why a non-smoker wouldn't want to have anything to do with vaping, or being vaped on. I have noticed a distinct smell when I walk into any vapor shop. All that vape, over time, generates a smell. What if business owners don't want that smell associated with their business? Or aren't vapers and simply don't want to smell that all day long? When I go to a friend's house that vapes, I can tell they've been vaping inside, and sometimes I can even name the flavor. I can smell it on them, and I can smell my own flavors, on my own clothes.

And in the movie theater, it would make such a cloud that I can see where it would bother people. To me, vaping in public, (when not outdoors) just isn't in the cards. And I can see why. What are your thoughts?

Regardless of whether you are "allowed" or "not allowed" to vape, common courtesy (remember that?!) dictates that there are places and situations where vaping (or smoking, or cell phone use, or loud talking, etc.) is simply inconsiderate of those around you. Having the right to do something carries with it the responsibility to do it judiciously.

I might add that when you are on private property—as restaurants, malls, theaters, etc. all are—then the property owner makes the rules; like them or not, observe them.

No we should not be allowed to vape in a movie theater. We should also not be allowed to use a cell phone in the movie theater. But there should not be a law against cell phone use on somebody's private property (aka the movie theater).

Btw you are already not allowed to use a cell phone or vape in a movie theater, it is against the rules.

As for other public places it is in fact up to the property owner. It is his or her right as a property owner to allow or disallow vaping.

You don't have a right to vape on my property, don't like it then take your business elsewhere!

OR

You don't have a right to "clean air" on my property, you don't like it than take your business elsewhere!

What are my thoughts?

I have always had an extremely good sense of smell.
I think your sense of smell is immensely better than mine, or just about anyone's.

Hmm. It sounds like your sense of smell might not be quite as good as you thought it was. My wife never smoked, and she can tell me what flavor I've been vaping. Maybe not the exact flavor, but if I've been vaping Cocoanut Creme Pie, she'll say it smells like Cocoanut in here. And its been tested and proven that women's sense of smell isn't quite as good as men's, as testosterone enhances the sense of smell significantly. Old women (ages 60+) almost lose their sense of smell entirely, according to the same study. Could be that your sense of smell has been damaged by all those years of smoking.

I guess I'm too young. By the time I started smoking, smoking inside most public places was already banned around here. Since I never got a real taste of that I guess I just don't miss it. I never even smoked inside my own home.

All I care about is if I can vape in my home and vape in my car. I don't think I'd let anyone take either of those away from me though!

Maybe you have a super-human olfactory nerve . I don't notice any of the smells you say you notice. No one in my family notices any smells. My friends who vape don't notice any smells or lingering smells. None of us have noticed an odor on our clothes. I've asked non-vapers if they noticed a smell around me or on my clothes and they all say no.

I've been vaping for 4 years now. I think I would have noticed something by now. How long have you been vaping???

Or maybe there is a contest, that we are not privy to, on how many threads can be started on a weekly basis, about the concerns of vaping around others? How come no one clues us in to these special contests! Are prizes awarded??

Ha ! My Grandmother could smell beer on my breath when she was 75. That was only one beer after many hours.

Pssssssssssst, I hate to break it to ya buddy, but vapor shops, fresh vape mail, my eLiquid storage cooler, ... have a strong aroma, a DELICIOUS MIND BOGGLING SCENT that is HEAVENLY, at that. We are talking 100,s of 30ml bottles plumb full of aroma. Fruits, beverages, bakeries, coffees, deserts, candies, yes yes yes! It's like walking into a bakery, or coffee shop!
This is not, as anyone who vapes knows, how the vapor or the Vaper or even the collective Vapers smell.
A 3ml dose of eLiquid in a PV vs a miminum of 3000ml in a vape shop... get real.

I remember when everybody smoked cigarettes & the theaters were packed with patrons. The ceilings are way up there high, for air, for the balcony, for the sake of diminishing the feeling of claustrophobia. Smokers delighted in blowing the smoke into the projectors light beams. Nobody ever missed the show, it was always visible, even with the steady stream of smoke streaming off the ends of cigarettes and the smokers exhaling everywhere. Blue smoke.
Vapor is white, dissipates fast, does not stream from the end of a cigarette, & I imagine most would exhale into the projector light, up up up into the ceiling, wherever it's ok to do so. Wherever it's not okay, they'll just continue to stealth vape like they been doing for years and ain't nobody gotten a clue about it yet.
Those who are so repulsed by heavenly scents can maybe try a dab of vasoline under their nose...

I'm going to start a thread on whether woman should be able to wear perfume indoors, in parks and at the beach.
What about in apts? The smell goes right through the vents, under the door, through the keyholes, swirling, gliding, looking for an asthma victim to choke & suffocate. Do you know what that stuff is made out of? OMG, It will curdle your spine.
