I know you would have checked this but I had a something like that. The only way it would shut off is if I took the battery off. I gave the threads a good cleaning on both, made sure none of the posts were touching the sides and it worked after that. I hope it is something that easy for you but probably not.

i wiggled the post and ow the utton lights up when i push it but as soon as theres contact with an atty it wont light up and it just fires constant
