Here is # 250* - still a perfect Caravela Hippie. Serial # is on back of ring on this particular one.

The Velas use atties, specifically 306 atties, not cartos.
I have been using Ciscos, and they seem to work really well.
Are you in the States Odogg?
I think a lot of USA folks are using Cisco Spec 306s, easy to get, etc. In Europe it looks like the "Olympic"? "Olympia"? is a bit more common.
I believe Pedro formed the Vela using a Cisco Spec atty, but any 306 should fit.
I get mine from Avid Vapors, I have always had good luck with them.

I use 2ohm Ciscos in the Velas ... but I Kick all my Caras. I run at 8-8.5 watts so it compensates for whatever I put on it.
I have used a 1.5ohm Aero, seemed about the same as the draw is a little "airier" ..... but some folks think 1.5 is too hot.
It's all a matter of preference I guess.
I would say a 2ohm atty is a safe bet though, you could always play around from there.
I use a Kick in ALL my Caras .. I usually use the 18500 tube, and Kick an 18350 battery, or a 18650 Kick'd (using 18500 batt)
All of the newer Caras, from about #150 up (?) have room in them for a Kick in the 18500 and 18650 tubes.
The original ones, like my 004, I had to order an Adamastor tube for. They had shorter 18500/18650 tubes.
You just have to use the smaller pins and play around with them.
There is talk Pedro is going to make an 18350 tube with room for a Crown.
