Why are most stabwoods so expansive?
Is it the material or because most of them are hand made?
Looks cool tho, kinda want one now lol
It is not necessarily the material that makes it expensive, a block of aluminum or ss304 is 10-20$, a relatively cheap stabwood block is 30-40$.
In a Cnc mill, you have to be more careful with stabwood, it takes more time.
But it is especially after work that time flies.

Hi All, it has been ages since I posted. Life, you know. This might not be the best thread for posting my problem but since it involves a stabwood, I figured it was a good start. I have a Thor with DNA 75c chip that I haven't used in years. I decided to pull out my two Thor mods and start using them. One is working really well but the other (my favorite of course) seems to have stuck buttons, if that makes sense. The mod will turn on but that is as far as it will go. The buttons to change settings and the up and down buttons are stuck.

I wrote to Evolv Wednesday about a repair. I am sure I will hear from them but did wonder if they are still active in the US with the vaping regulations that are in effect. If they can't repair it. do any of you have any suggestions on who I should contact?

Thanks! I hope all of you are well.

It sounds like the stabwood around the buttons has expanded due to humidity(it doesn't take much humidity to expand stabwood) and made the buttons stick. This has happened to a few of my stabwood mods in the past.
Apply a generous amount of good quality wood wax, renaissance wax is great and what I use, around the buttons that are stuck and poke the wax in around the buttons with a wooden toothpick(if handy) otherwise something similar. Once you have plenty of wax around the offending buttons just start pushing slowly and you should get some positive results!
If you're Thor has just been sitting unused for a long period of time and it was working fine previously then it's unlikely to be a chip problem so expanding stabwood sounds very much like the issue to me.
Good Luck with getting unstuck :)

Thank you. It has been a tough few years, losing two adult children. John and I have supported one another and our marriage survived. I will probably come back to the Random thread. It’s time.

Not sure how I missed this but what is it? It’s gorgeous!
It's a custom Squonker made back in 2016 by a member here named Vkiwi. He did a run of custom mods before the deeming regulations took effect back then. This one was quite special, he used bone for the white parts.
