Congratulations!!! That really is a beautiful and unique stabwood mod! Let me know how you feel about it after you’ve had some time using it. the majority red blends in perfectly with the with black mixed in. It looks a bit hefty with cool angles but I’m thinking it may be too wide for my hands. What size atty does it take?

Where did you buy it from? The British stabwood shop or the VA website?

And thank you for posting it here and showing it off!! Please post more pics of item especially the sides and the front. I love where they put the fire button. I have a couple of mods that have the fire button upwards. It’s so easy to press it with your thumb.

    Thanks Sara :)
    It's a rather small mod, a bit smaller than a Marquis 21700. It's a single 18650 and takes about a 24mm atty.
This one I purchased from the Classifieds here, it's a very rare VA and is hard to come by.
I really don't like the YiHi chip at all though, it's silly:lol: but I do love the Good Wood;)

    @Daniel Forsyth or anyone else…
Do you know nothing about the Ultroner Sphinx. The shape reminds me of the Asmodus Minikin 3 which I didn’t care for but for some reason I really like the looks this mod. I’m trying to decide if I should stretch my credits a bit thinner and ordering one. But they seem hard to find and you can’t choose the exact mod itself.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I have seen the Sphinx before, it does look like a very nice mod :)
Definitely worth grabbing one for yourself if you can find one at the right price, $270 isn't the right price for this mod:w00t:
Take at least $100 off that price and you have yourself a bargain!! Otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion!

I’m trying to decide if I should leave this stabwood with a matte finish or do the micro mesh treatment mentioned in the first few pages of thread and go for a high gloss finish. It’s time consuming but a high gloss finish really looks so beautiful

My opinion Sara would be to leave exactly as it is. The EOS II looks fantastic just like that and honestly I don't think a high gloss finish will improve this one that much more!
If you do really want to give it a bit more of a PoP your best bet would be just a coat of food grade mineral oil followed by some renaissance wax :)

Must be all the meds I’m on. But seriously, I have a memory problem due to a head injury in a serious auto accident a few years back. That plus the meds I’m on just make it worse. The only good thing about it is that everything is new to me from day to day or hour to hour lol! Unfortunately it’s also bit embarrassing.

This isn’t being sold at the British Stabwood store. I sent them an email to inquire and the response from Phil was that it wasn’t quite up to snuff and wouldn’t be stocking them. I wasn’t really into buying it so I don’t really care. I was just more interested in the reason it wasn’t stocked.

Why are most stabwoods so expansive?

No two are alike. Manufacturing a stab wood mod takes more time versus regular mods.

Is it the material or because most of them are hand made?

Yes and yes. Custom stab wood mods can be very expensive.

@Fidola13 knows of some stab wood mods that are not as expensive as the custom made ones. She can point you to some online stores.
