Having recently got my first stabwood I have a question for you guys. Can I use the same food grade mineral oil and or food grade wax that is used to keep my kitchen butcher block in condition on a stabwood mod to keep

The first few pages of the Showoff your Stabwoods goes into everything from basic care to more advanced polishing and finishing to get the colors to pop more with a bit of elbow grease. It’s a great resource for new stabwood owners especially.

The care depends on the existing finish. if it’s a dull non poly/acrylic ( not shiny) wood typical of most Asmodus products then use either mineral oil, renaissance wax (Amazon) or Howard’s Feed & Polish w orange (Amazon) which was recommended to me by the Asmodus customer service rep. Spray or pour it on a soft cloth and apply. Wait 10 - 20 minutes and wipe of the excess
.

Now...... if it’s a higher end stabwood that has a super shiny lacquer, acrylic or polyurethane finish then just use a light wood polish like Pledge. Spray it on a soft cloth, wipe it on then wipe off after 20 minutes.

Enjoy!!!!!

I just saw a great price on that model. Hard to believe they were over $100 several months ago. Enjoy it!!

Yes.
I just ordered the Renaisance wax and mineral oil.I am going to try oiling and waxing one, and just wax on the other.I can post some pics of before and after here if that helps.

Would love to see any difference posted on the Stabwood thread to keep it active and make it easier for new stabwood users to find information.

Hi! I have certainly been enjoying this thread...and as I mentioned in Shiny, it is quite possible I may be looking to purchase a stabwood sometime in the very near future.

If I have a few questions regarding opinions on quality or usage I will post them here...I promise not to get too neurotic about it.

I guess one question would be for the thread OP @Fidola13 ...have you assessed how easily scratched the chromed metal surfaces of the Gaia are? Thank you! :)

I Really Really think you should have a good close look at an Asmodus Minikin Kodama, the Minikin is a very ergonomic mod and extremely comfortable to hold, it's definitely not one of the more squared ones.
Have a closer look at mine on the previous page;)
If you do want to go down the Asmodus path for your first stabwood I may just have a little code just for you:wub:

God bless you! That’s what I call a good incentive to do some investigations. ;)

Serious drool emoji over here. :) The Primo is the one that caught my eye the most. But I just can’t do that price tag, lol. I *did* end up making a pretty nice purchase last week with help from a friend. When it gets here, I’ll be sure to post.

Can’t wait to see what you got!! Remember this isn’t a competition! Just people who appreciate wooden mods of all sorts!!

The Primos are beautiful. Maybe someday you can pick up a used one. They’re always in beautiful shape because people tend to baby them. Lol!

    Have a nice evening!
