I love the grain pattern! Do you know what type of wood it’s made of?

I’m not positive but from the pics it looks like it could be Tiger Maple. Great wood for a mod if that’s indeed what it is. Beautiful and tough as nails.

Actually, on further inspection, I realized mine wasn't finished as well as I would've liked -- sure it had nice glossy poly-coat (of some kind), but the wood below the coating had some finish imperfections. I sanded it down to the stabwood with 220grit, smoothed it over, and then micro-meshed it back up to nice lustre topped off with a rubbing of conservator's wax:

+1, I hate clear coat. Especially when its been badly applied, makes things look cheap.

Aye, SL Class mods are being phased out. What's left is all that's left.

Still sussing out my Mixed colour one, getting there slowly.

Tried buffing wheel and ended up with a lovely patchy effect which was caused by a coating that had been applied, which was nice (not). So had to micro mesh again, which has helped bring out more detail in the stabwood.

Will have to post some pictures soon.

Where did you hear that Yihi is phasing out the SL Class?

@Fidola13, when I got my scruffy mixed colour stabwood SL Class that needed a bit of TLC. The vape supplier (vapetime) mentioned that YiHi was not shipping any more SL Class mods to dealers or sellers as they're being phased out or discontinued.

My thoughts on the stabwood too....sometimes I really like the colours and patterns the resin creates and sometimes not but one thing I can agree with is that nothing beats a beautifully finished piece of burl maple At least that's what it looks like to me.

While I can’t argue, because that’s gorgeous, I don’t prefer it over my acrylic blends. Maybe because all my furniture plus the floors are beautifully finished wood. I’m surrounded by brown and desperately need color.
