LOL, its not Hidious, but does not look as good as the one on the right

The PAPs is still beautiful, again, side by side....

You can at least have ones to take out and about and not worry about anyone stealing it. :)

What matters is they will both work forever.

What was the old saying , just cause the paint is dinged, you dont throw away a Rolls Royce.

Yeah but the untouched is the 490/500 of which another one is being delivered soon
The shiny one is the only 650 of it I've got.

Don't worry though. I'll follow GP until this sad story comes to an end.
I will buy another 650.

My favourite (and first) Wismec rx200. I've had it for well over a year and it has taken beating after beating, including several multiple-feet tumbles onto stone floors, and just keeps going.

Ill go digging, i generally retire mods when i get new ones, i have some seriously dinged ones, including one that was so bad i went ocd on it and started scratching off the rest of the paint as it was under 50% left anyway :p that was the last straw that sent me to SS brushed polished urethane finish

This thread definitely strikes a chord with me...
I can't stand 'dings' and I've only just learnt a lesson not to sand your own gear (I hope)!
My newish Paps V4 18500 Stays in a little Gus pouch. So when it goes into its box to sleep, it doesn't rub against my other mods. Good times :?:
Then I bought another V4. The dremel is not my friend...
'Seamless? Really?'
Then I damaged an authentic kfun. I thought I'd leave the dremel to one side and sand it by hand. Bad move...
Now I have to send it to the same guy who had to refinish the phenomenon I sanded o_O

I just can't learn... :(

I used to be a member of a tool forum where members would talk about the tools they had bought and how they wouldn't use them in fear of damaging them (they called the shelf queens). This just didn't compute with me at all.

I am not saying you are the same, all I will say is that OCDness around what is essentially a tool can make you ultimately miss out on some good use. Dinks and minor blemishes are character marks - they are what makes your one yours. Just use and enjoy.

Having said that, one of my biggest pet peaves is when I mark something (anything) when I have been an idiot with a tool of some description. A massive gouge from use is fine, but a tiny dink from me being a wally with a screwdriver isn't! :D

The GGTS itself is all but destruction proof with only minor scuffs and scratches, but this is what it looked like after a ten foot fall onto a concrete floor. It worked for a few days yet in this condition.

As a bass player, I have always been fascinated with people "relic-ing" perfectly good instruments to look old and used. Good old sweat, beer, banging into stuff and honest playing is a different story. If a guitar looks like it was dragged behind a car for a few miles, it is likely a great instrument as it was played for thousands of hours.

Same with mods. Unless you are just a sadist and like hurting your mod or are a complete klutz, most of the worn out mods that have lasted long enough to show heavy wear (early Smok Aliens excluded!) are good ones.

So which of your mods look like they took enemy fire or were attached by a pack of wild animals?

My SX Mini M Class was purchased last Feb while on a trip to Nashville. It is heavy as hell but it is an amazing mod. I used this mod almost exclusively for about 6 months and still use it almost daily as a backup. The black finish on the body isn't the best, but it has its share of wear as it has been camping, in my golf bag, cup holder, multiple flights, etc. I take care of my stuff, but sometimes a bit of wear comes with the territory.

Let's see yours...

I have the same exact M Class and its a monster of a mod. While it's certainly heavy, it's built like a tank.

I think that wear on the finish is nice. Character. I had a gunmetal vamo that looked like a pair of old jeans. I really missed it when it died.
