I am actually looking forward to vapping in the movie theater :chortles: When i get my first ecig. And in restaurants, and toy stores. I'ma show it off, and be very polite and inform people of the health benefits. In fact, i'm buying my brother and his girl one each for christmas. I am limited in funds, so its a BIG present from me this year. But i would prefer them vaping then smoking. Hell, I'd prefer ME vaping then smoking. I hope analogs go out the window completely and get replaced by ecigs. Woohoo!

On an unrelated topic, is there a post minimum before you can post your own threat? Just curious.

threat or thread?

threats- probably shouldnt post them at all :D
threads-nope, i dont think so

I have vaped in a movie, but I do it stealthfully. I don't go out of my way to be seen. I don't need anyone taking notice to interrupt my movie, but in stores and other places, I vape when I want.

As far as post count, you can post in new member forum until, I think 15 posts. I think it has something to do with Bot's infiltrating the forum.

I've been kind of keeping my public vaping on the down-low. If I'm outside I vape away, but not so much indoors or anywhere analogs are prohibited.

While I know I can explain it's just water vapor, I just don't want the hassle and be the crusader for e-cigs--also while it's clearly not a cig, those that have to police these things can point to the "me too" effect (if he can smoke in here, why can't I?), which means THEY have to explain it not's a cigarette, etc. etc.

Outdoors, I use it like I'd use an analog and if I get a question, I'm happy to explain why I'm so happy with it and how I quit analogs the day I got it--it's a great story and I think could help people quit. I got some business cards from the supplier I got it from that I hand out: they've got a little explanation on the back about what an e-cig is, with the business info on the front so if they're interested, they have a place to check it out. Plus I mention this forum if they seem really interested, as I learned so much from everyone here--it's such a great resource to anyone looking to get into vaping.

Literally what i mean is when your vaping outdoors do you tend to get attention drawn to you and how do you handle it? I mean everytime i go out and vape... Most people stop me from time to time and ask questions.. (It's annoying) But then again you get good remarks if you give them a good review about the device.

We must have very different personality types. I like the attention ... and I love talking about vaping.:)

You now can start your own thread (I'm sure that's what you meant) in the New Members forum.

Once the "Junior Member" under your screen name changes to "Full Member" (after 15 posts), you can start a thread in most forums. [Although I wouldn't recommend that Atheist Vapers and Christian Vapers start threads in each others forums.:D]

I use mine pretty much everywhere all the time. Haven't been on an airplane since I quit but next week...

No one bothers me at all except to express interest. All positive. I was showing a friend in Whole foods the other day and she said everyone in the section just STOPPED and was staring, :))) I don't think people know what to think quite yet, but I hear people say that they have a friend who just got one more and more. but still, no bad experiences at all.

If we keep just being cool and not make a scene with our new gadgets people will be curious and maybe give it a try themselves or to a friend.

My sisters and I all quit with this device and if you want to see one HAPPY mom I know where to find one :) and she is the biggest anti-smoker I know.

Usually goes something like this.

Person: What the (pick an expletive) are you smoking?
Me: Its an electr- Its a nicotine vaporizer
Person: Oh, so is that one of those fake cigarettes from porn sites?
My Brain: Well no, I wouldn't call it that exactly, I mean its not really fake, nor a cigarette
Me: Er... yes

From here the conversation goes one of three ways

1. Oh, so can you put weed in it?
2. Person goes back to smoking their analog
3. Actual interest

In the case of the third option, I'm more than happy to go beyond my canned layman's explanation.

The only real exception to this in my experience was this one guy I talked to that said this, verbatim, "You know, you probably think those are good for you but they're not. And I know, I've had one before and then I had cigarette and I got all woozy. You get like ten times the nicotine. Its not good for you"

To which I replied, "Do you have any Science or anything to back that up?" and he told me that he didn't need it because of the aforementioned anecdotal evidence. I conceded with, "Meh, anything has gotta be better for you than smoking a cigarette." and he kind of just laughed and kept smoking and telling me how I was going to die ten times quicker... I never thought I'd see an anti-smoker with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth, but here we are.

All I ask is that you be a polite vaper. Try to keep it stealthy, don't be flashy, and if someone asks you to take it outside, please do. This is a battle we need to fight with finesse and strategy, not brute force. :)

I try to be polite to those around me (just my nature) so I don't often vape indoors. When asked about my PV I usually say this is a device I'm using to help me quit smoking. It's uses a cartridge (I pull off cartridge and show them) that contains some nicotine, flavoring and the same type of liquid used in fog machines. I then put the cartridge back on and take a small puff and show them the vapor. I then give them my son's business card and tell them to check out this forum for more information.

I rarely get asked about mine. Ive been using my 901s here and there for a year now. I take that back, I get asked about it in bars, every time. But no where else. I also do not think we should do it *everywhere just because we can. There is no need for it.
I'm the same way as far as respecting others. If we wanna get this passed (Honestly, I kinda like things the way they are right now. No FDA approval = no overtaxing in order to get us to quit. Taxation is the new form of prohibition), vaping and blowing it in anti-smokers' faces isn't the way to go. Then again, I also wouldn't go to to my niece's softball game drinking a near beer. Same concept.

Tallgirl, your signature had me laughing out loud!
