Hello guys,
I'm about to get my hands on my first Pyrex carto tank. Got a pro tank on the way as well.
Since I'm in Europe, getting all those good tanks is hard and can cost quite a bit in shipping. Like valley view vapes for example. However I can get my hands on a Siam mod tank in Pyrex and I wanted to hear the seasoned and experienced tank users about them. The price would be at around 30$ for the total setup, including 5 pre punched boge cartos and a filler tool, those white plastic ones.

Is the tank worth it?
I remember pbusardos review about one and he said they were very lose. So I got no clue really what to do or where to get one without the cost for shipping equals the cost of the tank itself.

Thanks

Take at least $5 off that for cartomizers and $4 for the tank tool for a total of $9 off of the "kit" price of $30, and that leaves $21 for the price of the glass tube and steel caps, which have had some mill work done on them for appearance. Decent price as long as all the parts fit and the o-rings don't allow the tank to leak.

I've not owned these tanks to offer any first hand experience. I know someone from the Provape sub-forum who had Siam Mods tank and there was some issue with the o-rings not being very snug allowing the tank to be a little on the loose side, as PBusardo alluded to in his review. If you look at the closeup image of the tank caps on the Clouds of Vapor website, the o-rings look like they would barely touch the carto. One would hope that the manufacturer has corrected this issue by this time. Steel End Caps

My recommendations? Unless you are really keen on the look of the milled-design stainless steel caps, you'll get just as much "value" with an IBTanked pyrex tank with SS caps for under $25. The IBTanked SS caps are low profile. Pretty sure they will ship overseas, but I haven't a clue what the shipping charge might be. I'd do a comparison of costs. IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!

Nice thing about IBTanked is you will get a choice to choose the diameter of the tank, which you won't with the Siam Mods tank if I recall correctly. They are available in a 19mm and 25mm diameter, depending upon the diameter of the battery device you'll be putting a tank on. I did a comprehensive review of these tanks here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3318-3-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks-review.html

I also have written a series of articles concerning cartomizers, cartotank setup, list of vendors selling pre-punched cartos, etc in my blog. You can access it by clicking on the link under my avatar.

I have the Siam Mods pyrex tank and it's working fine. The o-rings they use in the caps that fit around the carto are a bit looser than say Phiniac or IBTanked (both of which I recommend as well), but I've never had any issues with leaking. If you're worried about the tank sliding off of the carto from the top, then make sure you use a pawn or Ming style drip tip that bulges at the bottom. This will ensure that with a flanged carto, the tank is secure, or even with a standard carto (no flange) it will be secure once attached to the battery device.

Hope this helps.

How about the Siam Mods Cobra? Any difference?

The Cobra is a rebuildable atty tank, and entirely different animal than a cartotank. So, yes HUGE difference.
With the Cobra you will be rolling your own stainless steel mesh wicks and wrapping your own steel heating coils.

The cartotanks have a far less learning curve than RBA's. You can read up on setting up a cartotank by reviewing the article I wrote in my blog. Click the number "6" under blog entries below my avatar.
