alright i finally reached the point where i realized auto batteries are worthless due to the juice junking up the auto switch, so i decided to go manual for my dse801.

it has been 9 days with my manual batts for the dse-801 and i have gone through 2 manuals (i got 'em from ruyan direct). my auto batteries have lasted at least 3-4x as long as the manuals, and it's pissing me off.

The problem is that the rubber button gets pushed inside of the battery and i have to dig it out with a thumbtack or a safety pin, or something. and from that point on, it's all downhill...seriously 2 manual batteries in a week...it's rediculous, for the price i might as well smoke analogs.

i want a mod, but i'm not technically inclined in the area of electrical engineering. what is the best place to get a sweet (relatively cheap mod)? i was looking at the prodigy from puresmoker.com, but it's a little out of my price range at the moment...

is ruyandirect.com a bad place to buy manual batts? i'm just trying to look for a good battery souce, as atomizers are not a problem currently....

ANY advice or experiences would be helpful...

thx.

Yo, go to heathcabin and pick up a 510 manual starter kit for about $40 plus shipping, they rock. I have had my same 2 batteries and atomizers for 6 months with no problems with the button sticking. The only downside is the battery life, but if you get these you will want to get a pcc that can charge on the go without being hooked up to a cable because it has a internal battery which can be charged with a usb.

Good luck

When I got my DSE901, the battery button kept popping out every time I pushed it! Several times it fell on the floor, and I had to go on a treasure hunt to find it. Sheesh. Needless tosay, I went right back to my 510 that does not have this problem.

I'm not saying this problem is endemic of the 901 - probably not since most people don't have this problem, but it appears that some battery lots are a bit, shall we say, defective.

If you really like your model, I agree that you just need to order some batts from another vendor. I know that's frustrating, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I bought 2 of the 801 manual batteries from heaven-gifts.com. The first had the button fall off (your exact problem)the second works fine but I'm using it as a spare because I don't trust the quality.
I bought a prodigy but it burns too hot. I don't enjoy it at 5v
.
I ordered high vape juice from nhaler.com and am hoping that the change in juice will improve my Prodigy experience.

Exactly. It really appears that with the problems cited here on 801 and 901 manuals and manual passthroughs for the 901 that these are all retrofitted - buttons sticking, getting lost and falling off. The 510 manual seems to be a different animal all together (don't recall any of those problems being reported) or when the retrofitted it they got it right.

I had the same problem with a 901 manual passthrough I got from there. The problem would be easily remedied by increasing the height of the rubber button so it can't be pushed low enough to go under the casing. Once it does it loses position on the tactile switch when it's moved back. You could fix it yourself by glueing a piece of rubber onto the button before it happens; a key from an old remote control would probably do it, cut in half if it's too big. However Ruyan should really fix that and HG should get on their case too.

Let me also put in a plug for the 510. I have never had a problem with the manual battery buttons falling off, getting stuck, or anything else. True, the battery life is only about 2 hours; HOWEVER, Totally Wicked is now selling Titan Mega Power batteries for the 510, which are supposed to last twice as long as the "old style" batteries. Some people claim they last 6 hours or more. I just got my Titans in the mail today so I can't personally attest to their performance, but I know many on this forum are quite happy with them. Good luck.

You say a Prodigy is a bit out of your price range? Well if 80 dollars is within your price range I suggest looking into a Chuck. 2 day battery life with heavy use and tested for 3 to 4 day battery life under "average" use. At any rate, 2 days is a really good life span for a battery. Durable parts (including the switch) and materials.

Check out the very popular thread here: How to Spend a Saturday

Most of it is babble and chat but all the important information has been covered like size (5in for Chuck and 3.5in for little Chuck), connector types (801,901,510), available colors (lots), and customizable graphics.

If your seriously looking for a mod you can check out the Janty Stick (10440 batt) or the protege (10450 batt).

Both are around $80 for complete kits.

I have the JStick and simply love it. Small, light, 3-4hours per batt and vapes/charges from the usb at the same time.
I would have to agree I love my JStick not saying that I wouldn't love another mod to try out, but the JStick might be up your alley

im going to guess its the suppliers product and not the fact its a manual battery. buy a titan 510 from totally wicked. ive been using the three different batteries for two months and have not had any problems with the buttons or the batteries. the batteries are also cheaper then many other batteries that i have had from other companies. two batteries sticking is a flaw in the design...get a different brand [TITAN 510] from totally wicked.
