Hey everyone, I am an average smoker, smoke about 2 packs a week or so. 6 months ago I tried switching to ecigs and quitting real cigarettes. I ended up going with the Pure ecig starter pack and was pretty disappointed. Firstly one of the two batteries that came with it doesnt work at all. The LED lights up but no smoke is emitted. I have submitted a support ticket 5 times now and each time someone responds with "loosen the cartridge"(which I have tried) and then they close the ticket.

Also, they said that a single cartridge should last the equivalent of at least an entire pack of cigarettes, but in my case it barely even lasts the equivalent of 3 cigarettes and it ends up being even MORE expensive than smoking real cigarettes..... Also, hardly any vapor smoke is emitted so it definitely doesn't feel like smoking a real cigarette.

I am hoping someone could reccomend a really good ecig for me that feels more like smoking the real thing and lasts longer and most of all is affordable.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The kit you got is the common rip-off mall kit that should be banned because they make people think vaping sucks. Go check out smokelessimage.com, bloogplanet.com or halocigs.com and get a real kit. That or get a 510 starter kit or a eGo kit with dual coil cartomizers...that will change the way you look at vaping big time.

Can someone who knows a lot about eGo and dual-coil comment on this package?

Riva Mega Dual Coil Kit | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

That's a nice kit and worth the money. They are running a sale right now. Bookmark the deals/steals thread for future sales that get posted. There's a bunch going on right now.

For sweet-vapes, use code HALLOWEEN for 15% off your total order.

Deals and Steals

Personally, I would go with an eGo than a slim ecig. Battery life and a little "umf" in my vape is worth it to me.

Yeah if you want a slimmish ecig with prefilled cartos I recommend a KR808D-1

The SmokelessImage/Bloogplanet/Halocigs G6 type has a bit more charge and a better sealed end on the manuals, but a short 5 second cutoff (max drag 5 secs which is ashort with manuals since you want to press 1-2 seconds early so nice vapor is ready when you start your drag).. Rubberized finish on there. Very nice cartos.

Vapor4Life - 10-13 second cutoff on the current single-logo batteries (read their descriptions to see about others) so you can take a long drag. Manuals have a more normal size button but the threaded end still has a hole (though it looks probably sealed inside)

I recommend standard aka 78mm batteries for 120mm ecig to get decent battery life. And I recommend manuals - harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get good consistent hits

I think most people would agree a good prefilled carto lasts about 8-12 cigarettes worth. but we don't run them dry - you can singe them. We keep cartos damp with suitable juice. Depending on how much you vape and what carto you use you can get 4-7 days use out of one carto, some get 10 days depending on the juice and skill of the person. I use thin clear juices - PG with 20% or less VG, and I avoid juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing.

Or if you want something even stronger with longer charge - you need to go to the fat battery models or mods. But the cartos will generally be blanks. I recommend the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com only - we know those are all 3.7v new stock from the correct manufacturer. (more than Ego, more than most slim ecigs, same as the slim ecigs I described above). But on a big battery model (450mah+) you can optionally use the hotter harder hitting low resistance atomizers and cartomizer.

Thank you and thanks for all the feedback everyone! I have decided to go with the Riva Mega Dual Coil kit. I can't wait to renew my faith in ecigarettes and finally kick the real thing!

The Riva is a good PV and much better than what you have. It's too bad no one mentioned the E-Power 510. Same as the Riva but the batteries cost 4 times less than the Riva's and last 4 times longer. But I'm sure you will like the Riva.

Great kit for the $. +1 for Hairballs discount advice: For sweet-vapes, use code HALLOWEEN for 15% off your total order.
Also, you need to pick up an atomizer and a drip tip there or somewhere and some juice of course. You'll use the atomizer to test juices before filling your cartomizer. Only juices you enjoy get a cartomizer. You can also use the atomizer to drip and vape. You'll want a 2.0 to 3.0 ohm atomizer. Happy vaping :)

Hey everyone,

So I got my new ecig today in the mail and so far I have to say I am not impressed. Maybe someone can help me figure out whats wrong here.

So both of the batteries came preassembled with the atomizer, atomizer cover and a cartridge. I fully charged both batteries and reconnected the cartridge that came attached to the battery. I got a little bit of smoke, but nothing compared to even the Pure ecig that I had prior to this. I figured that maybe they assemble the battery with an empty cartridge so I opened one of the 5 cartridges that it came with.

What was odd was that the cartridge came sealed in a little plastic bag, but the bag has the word "empty" written on it.... same for the other 4 cartridges. I don't know why they would seal the cartridges if they are all empty, can you shed some light on this for me?

Anyway, after connecting the new cartridge I got more smoke, about the same as my pure cig, however, the "throat hit" was not anywhere near what it was with my Pure ecig and the taste was like a burning chemical taste instead of a flavor.

Also, I noticed that in the sealed cartridges there was a bit of cotton stuffed in the top, am I supposed to leave that in there? Do I have to buy my own liquid to fill these cartridges with or what? Thanks everyone for the help so far!

Oh another thing is that after about 5 minutes the button started blinking rapidly, on my Pure Cig that meant that the battery was dead, but this was after a full charge(the light on the charger turned green). So how could this be?

Hi there,

You are at the beginning of a long and varied journey that is unique to everyone. I'm still on my journey trying to find the 'perfect' cartomizer.

To answer a few of your questions: The packages marked EMPTY are yes, empty. I prefer them to be wrapped nonetheless to make sure I know they are 'clean' or free of any foreign materials.

The fiber batting in the tip is supposed to be there, and yes, you would want to fill them with the e-juice of your choice. THAT journey is an even larger, more varied journey with different choices everywhere you look! :)

What you were seeing with the small amount of smoke was probably just the primer fluid. Most kits come soaked in an oil to keep all of the elements from drying up. This can apply to atomizers, cartomizers, even some empty tips can be moist out of the package. You generally want to blow out any oil from the atomizers before burning them, as they can add a foul taste on the first few drags.

Don't be discouraged yet. Once you find the right e-juice, you then probably re-evaluate your equipment and try other things. Right now, I'm loving the 3.5ml Giant Clear cartomizers from HealthCabin, strapped onto my eGo 1000mah USB Passthrough batteries. It's an awesome setup that lasts me all day long, but it's not a small system to carry around. :)

Get some good, quality e-juice (made in USA preferred.... avoid China juices), try a few sampler packs from different vendors, and pretty soon you will unlock a whole new world.

Thanks ResDog70!

I wish they would have been more clear about the fact that the cartridges are empty. Coming from an automatic system like Pure, I am not used to empty cartridges since the cartridges I have purchased in the past have always been filled and come with the atomizer built in. I will buy some e-juice and report back!

Alright, so I did some research and discovered that I could use my Pure cartridges with my new 510 batteries. I have 3 cartridges left so I screwed one in and VOILA! Plenty of smoke and a great throat hit(even better than the one I get using the same exact cartridge with the Pure battery).

So it appears that the lack of e-juice was my only issue. I reviewed my order on the website and it clearly says in the description "5 x Pre-filled cartridges" (I knew I wasnt crazy haha). So I have submitted a support ticket asking why they sent me empty cartridges.

Thanks!

Another update:

Already got word back from the company(AMAZING!) Pure used to take around 72 hours to respond to my support tickets and I already got word back from this company in only an hour!

I'm sorry it appears the factory packed them with empty carts. please do not use them till we get you liquid to fill them. I will get a bottle of tobacco liquid in the mail to you tomorrow.

That is great service.

I was reading your post and thinking how weird it would be to order a kit without filled carts....

Once you get your juice it will all work out fine. The big problem then is to figure out who from all the vendors on this forum you will get your goto juice from...... good luck
