Which ecig should I purchase as a menthol smoker trying to quit?

I need help in choosing which ecig to buy.
I smoke Pall Mall Menthol 100s and that needs to cease.

I don't care what the ecig looks like.
Price is somewhat of a concern.
I've looked at bluecigs, southbeachsmoke, smoke frii.....
I know someone who uses the liquid in his ecig..... I don't believe he uses cartridges....
That seems like a good way to go.
I tried it and it was awesome. I didn't mind that you had to press the button while inhaling.
What about refills? The sites I looked at seemed to say each cartridge was equivalent to a pack of cigarettes.

I'm just looking for something with decent battery life, menthol flavor, and hopefully not $200. Hooopefully under $150 as well. ;)

I really appreciate any responses. Thanks for your time. :)

No. Don't buy any "name" model on the web if you don't know what Chinese model it really is, whether it is a good and well-supported model, how much it really should cost and who else carries parts for it.

And you don't have to spend that much - you only think you do because you have been looking at sites that slap their own name on something and jack up the prices.

re the button - Yes - buy manual batteries. Auto batteries are much more likely to be damaged or killed by juice leaks, and might turn on accidentally from wind or vibration. And Manuals give more control of your hit.

From short battery life to very long battery life the most recommended starting ecigs are

Figuring 100mah is about an hour for a moderate vaper

Joye 510 180mah (but has a very nice cig-pack look PCC at NoSmokeVA)
Joye 510 w/ mega xl batteries 280mah (only has a less roomy metal pcc)
KR808D-1 (and in colors at Vapor4Life) standard battery is 280mah (only a flat metal PCC)
Fat battery models - for 510 threading would be Ego or Riva 510 and others (650-1100mah)
Mods with removable batteries and I recommend 510 threading

510 has the most stuff available for it but very few prefilled cartomizers (plenty of blank cartomizers)
510 manuals are totally sealed on the threaded end and very safe from juice leaks
The fat battery 510 models can also use hotter harder hitting LR (low resistance) parts
The Blu is most similar to but not as good as the slim 510 + NoSmokeVA.com PCC

KR808D-1 is a 2-piece and has plenty of prefilled cartomizers as well as blanks
KR808D-1 manuals still have a hole in the end but are safer from damage than autos since they are not dependent on a drag sensor inside the hole
The Southbeach 2-piece is a model similar to KR808D-1 but Southbeach may be the incompatible model

Ok, since you don't really care about size, don't mind a manual battery, have a descent budget, that means there are about 2,354 different choices for you. :) And you will get that many different replies.

Personally I love my ego-t, some do, some don't. You can go this route, get some juice, and be set for under $100. I like to order from cignot.com

no need to spend 100 bucks on a good unit...Riva Starter Kit | Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | E Cig Kit at LiteCigUSA along with these 15 Boge 510 Carto Deal at Crystal Clear Vaping : Cleanest, Purest Unflavored Nicotine On The Planet and you are good to go....oh and then order liquid from juice vendors. you can read reviews in the e-liquid reviews section.

another option is this: http://cropduster901.com/?page_id=478 comes with everything you need (including cartomizers) all you need is get liquid.

i use the riva myself and like it a lot...i really want the echo 1300 also.

Wow.... okay I love your response esp the honesty, I will admit that I find it to be confusing since I'm not familiar with much of what you mentioned. :(
Should I buy individual pieces and make something myself? Should I get a starter kit? What is a cartomizer?

I just want someone to tell me what to do! lol ;)

Kr808d-1 kit from AZsmokefree (and a dot com). It's $36.95 and comes with 2 batteries, wall charger, USB charger and 6 cartos to start. (they're regular tobacco flavor though). Get one or two packs of blank cartomizers from him too. Total shipping is $5 (flat rate for entire order).

Juice from Nhaler (add a dot com). Get the Nhale/Xhale 555 Menthol. Anyone I've had try the 555 Menthol has been very happy with it. Get a 5ml bottle to try it. :)

That's the easiest way to switch. You'll have everything in 3-4 days.

Good luck, and welcome to the sunny side!

All those sites you mentioned are the "RIP OFF" sites! Don't waste your money on that junk. For the price you pay on that junk you can get a top of the line PV! Listen to the people making suggestions in this thread. You can get going with something really nice for under $100.

I really appreciate people's help!
I'm having a time trying to understand exactly what to do. Ultimately I would like to have just 1 ecig with the least amt of parts possible. Then just buy the juice and you're golden right?

A cartomizer is an atomizer (e.g., heating element) and cartridge (e.g., juice resovoir) in one piece. It's the part you screw into your battery and put your lips on to take a hit.

So you just want an easy answer? Buy an eGo/Riva kit with some Boge cartos. Then pick up a 510 or 306 atomizer with drip tip so you have something to test flavors with. With a drip tip you only drop a couple drips of juice at a time, enough for few good hits.

if you want, you can send me a PM and i can link you to everything you would need to get started. im not pedaling my on stuff, just the stuff that works great for me.

That's awesome. I'm new to this website as of this morning and am not seeing how to send a pm.

Wow..... I'm pretty sure it's not just that I haven't slept yet due to working the overnight.... but I just can't seem to figure out how to write a message to you or respond to your message. No option in the drop down menu of your username.
I can be contacted at yahoo e-mail through this screen name. :)
I'm looking into the Riva 510, not sure where to get it.
I do understand the concept of the cig not being the flavors, that would be the liquid, etc. Noticed that there are tobacco flavors.... hmmm... mix that with mint. We shall see eh? Appreciate all your help. Hope you are able to enjoy some of this sunshine!
Thanks

I think the Riva is out at Liberty Flights right now. If you want to purchase immediately, you can get the Joye Ego from them for $10 more. That's the one I have. It's great and has a 6 month warranty on batteries. Riva is great too and you can't go wrong with either. Liberty Flights has excellent customer service as well.

Remember to review all of your purchases from them and you get a 50 cent credit for each item you review.

I smoked about 1 pack of Pall Mall Menthol 100s every day and a half. When I decided to quite I thought I wanted to continue with the menthol too. Just seemed like it would make things easier because I sure didn't want to be craving any cigarettes while trying to quit. So I ordered menthol liquid, Dunhill, lemonade, creme de menthe, green apple pre-filled carts and some unflavored nicotine.

Because I did want to wait I tried the green apple first and haven't had an analogue since! Menthol didn't matter at all.

My kit was (is) a KR808 D-1 and it works just fine for me. I got two automatic and 1 manual battery with it. I think I spent way under $200 and that was with the empty carts, gloves, other liquids, etc. I bought it at analoguealternative.com.

Don't worry about the menthol and easing into e-cigs. You will be fine as long as you get the nicotine. It's the nicotine that is the real work, trying to figure how much you need.:vapor:
