Borrowing a smok SID from my friend while my new (and first!) mechanical mod is on the way. The device is fantastic and easily outperforms my old Vision Spinner by a long shot, but it is becoming more trouble than it is worth.

I've been using an AeroTank on it since last night with what I assume to be a stock coil from Kanger. The SID reads it at around 2.2 ohms. I'm also using a fresh battery. I was able to temporarily fix the 'Short' error by gently loosening the coil from the base of the tank, creating a more free connection to the contact on the SID. This worked for a while until now, with the 'Low Load' error coming back. I'm not sure what else could be causing these annoying issues.

Am I out of luck? I'd feel bad giving this back to him tomorrow in the state it is in. Thanks.

Sounds like you may have tightened the atty to much and pushed the pin down on the 510. If the new head doesn't fix it (witch does have good odds at being the problem) take a small screwdriver and get that center pin pulled up just a smidgen. As this is a borrowed unit you want to talk to him first as you can damage the 510 (threads or damage the insulator) doing this.

The tank is on here so tight! I'm officially done using this setup. I just want my mod!
