Hey guys, I'm ordering a segelei 150w today and was wondering what batteries I should be looking at? I was thinking of getting the Samsung 25r's. I doubt I will be vaping over 110 watts ever. Would like to sub ohm down to the .1ohms though so I know that might be trouble. The charger I'm ordering is the luc v4 charger. I usually vape at 29watts on my .7 Lemo build, and 60watts on my drippers at .2ohms. Thanks in advanced!

Got two of those samsungs in one now. I just got the mod the day before yesterday afternoon, and they lasted until 3am today (right now) hitting it fairly heavily at 30-40w. Yeah... I can't see me turning it up that high either,

But, now they're charging and I can't hit it so I'm going to order two more of those or another pair of nicer 18650s. Just make sure they're the same design/dimensions as that samsung there (no sticking out positive terminal) cause even 1-2mm longer and the batteries won't fit (that's for crummy ultrafire 18650s I bought... but they'd have worked for a little bit if they would have fit!).

With VW mods it doesn't matter what your atty resistance is, you set watts and the mod keeps that with all resistances that it's capable of running. Battery amp draw in these mods is dependent on watts only.

150 watts draws almost 30A when the batts are almost discharged. The only batteries I know of that are rated to 30A continuous are the Sony VTC series. You can get the VTC4 at Illumination Supply for $8 each. No one that I know of has authentic VTC5 in stock these days. Illumn is a known good battery supplier and does not sell counterfeits. Here are a few more:

RTD Vapor
Lighthound
Orbtronic
Battery Junction

If you're not going over 100 watts, 20A batts like the LG HE2 and Samsung 25R are great. The Luc chargers have a very good reputation AFAIK too.

Best of luck with your new mod :thumb:

^ $8? Why didn't me tell me earlier, Ryedan? :D

Anyway, is there any way to tell if your Sony batteries are in the higher bin or lower bin? The reason I was asking is because of the video from Pegasus Vapor Academy. Basically no batteries are created equal (just like arrows) so some are better than the others. So, how could I tell if my VTC4s are in the high quality or lower quality bin? I suspect that for $8, it's probably not the best one even though it's the same Sony battery.

I am not sure how to tell HOWEVER my uncle is REALLY into flashlights and he told me about illumn and I belive the batteries are good quality the reason the prices are so good is because they buy and sell a lot. According to my uncle pretty much everyone who knows anything about flashlights uses them for there 18650 cells. I could be wrong though.

As far as batteries go I dont really see the point in skimping when everything is under ten bucks. For example I can get a Samsung 25r for 6 bucks, LG HE2 for around the same OR a VTC4 for 8 bucks. I would NEVER buy anything except VTC4s from illumn. Unless of course 5s come back. I mean for $100 you can get SIX pairs of VTC4s...thats amazing.

I know, I hate when that happens too :)

As TorontoOntario said, Illumn is a great supplier and I am confident when I buy from them they are selling the best product they can get. They also test batteries when they get a shipment in.
