It is not that it is dishonest...it is just consistent with boost technology in the dna and sx chips. It will not regulate if you set the device at a wattage that asks it to deliver voltage that is lower than the battery in the tube. If you had a 2.6 ohm coil and you set it for 7 watts, it will deliver a regulated 4.27 volts to your coil. Also...as far as ClarkF's device, Mine fires the. 7 but only at 3.74.....so, unregulated if my battery is higher than that, lower otherwise. Because of battery drop off and such, I can only do this with my new VTC5s. But, I dont want to vape at 3.7 volts anyway...so..I usually wind. 8 and above for devices I use on my 20 watt devices.

I am loving the 30w, I have to use my Orbtronic high drain 18650 2900mAh batt, because my older aw imr's were shorter and I would have to adjust the pin all the way up closing off the vents, and I have no spacers. I have not gone below 1 ohm though, and rarely that, so not sure how it works much lower than that. Works great up to 30w with higher ohms though, and more than enough for me. I got one without the logo on the tube, which I like, the logo sorta bugged me. I also see telescope tubes for sale for it, which you can use on the 20w legend v2, and 30w.

The 30w has a stainless top cap too, and I think the 20w doesn't, for what that's worth. It doesn't feel wimpy ether, seems well made for the most part, but I am more careful with it then the provari, which I have dropped more times then I want to admit, not really wanting to drop the 30w, not sure it would survive, but I really shouldn't be dropping anything. Glad I got the 30w though, so far really liking it.

What about using 3.3V LiFePo4 batteries, is that an option?

Mine came in yesterday and I'm loving it so far. A HUGE difference coming from a Ego-Vv to this baby. No need for buyers regret, this thing is awesome. I purchased it knowing that it AND the DNA chips did not regulate down so no surprises for me and even with that limitation this thing rocks.

The newest SX chip, the SX350 regulates down but its unlikely you'll get your hands on one of those for under $75 for a long time. Enjoy what you have, its a beast.
