Hey all!

I just got my very first Reo in the classifieds. It was already prepared for a Kick. AND ... I already had a sigelei Kick clone that I pre-ordered some time ago just sitting here waiting for the perfect mod. When I read that the Reo's could be "Kicked" ... And being a bottomfeeder type gal ... I jumped on board when I saw this Grand in the Classies! :) Never used a Kick before. AND the sigelei Kick clone is not EXACTLY like the original Evolv Kick as it does not have the "spring". Anyhow ... I've done ALOT of reading and found that the Kick works great with the "Kick Stand" that a member came up with which BTW I do not have :-(. I've tried the sigelei Kick and the AW18490 today in my Grand ... And NADA. It looks like the little door that comes open hits the top of the Kick and does not allow the firing pin to connect with the top of the Kick. I'm no techie guru (at all!!) ... So not sure really what to do or how to fix (???) I am loving the vape I get with the AW18650 without a Kick ... But I bought this Reo Grand with the finished already scratched off in the back specifically so I could try my new Kick. Has anybody here Kicked their Grand using the new Sigelei clone? Does it work? And I'm thinking I REALLY need the "Kick Stand" to keep the Kick far enough away (and straight & in place) to allow that little trap door to open. HELP!! LOL! :) Thanks bunches guys!

(ohhhhhhhh ... And I can see a Mini in my not too distance future!!! WOW! Really liking the Grand!! :D)

Don't know about the kick (many here do though) but wanted to congratulate you on stepping up into REO and to welcome you :)

I did some research it sure looks to me like you could solder a wire to the ground on your kick and run it to the spring on your grand

Solder??? Ummmmmm nooooooo can do! LOL! The Sigelei Kick is a clone of the original Evolve Kick. It's not EXACTLY the same as it doesn't have that "spring" thingie. But I think I need a "Kick Stand" to keep the connector pin on the Kick (I think that's what it's called) down a little further so the little door can open and the firing pin can make connection with top of the Kick. Where can I get that little Kick stand? I know this is probably simple ... Just not simple for ME!!! Ugh! LOL!

Here's a video of the regular kick in a REO. Does yours look pretty much like this? A kick stand is usually a homemade jobby just for holding the kick in and sitting up straight. People have made them out of Pink Pearl erasers, for instance.

EDIT: Well, nevermind....the video says "private" when I hit play. Maybe go to youtube and type in kick and reo and see what comes up.

I used a Kick for about a year and i blew two of them out by putting the battery in upside down...instant death to the kick. Now that i have an RM2 I don't have a desire for more Kicks as the vape is so good.

The kick had the grounding spring where you could attach a grounding wire which i found worked much better than when I tried to do it with the paint sanded off on the inside of the mod. With the original Kick you could line up the blue box exactly with the door, which I'll call an opening..lol, where the firing pin gets pushed down. This placed the positive contact inside the opening so that it was closer to the firing pin than a nipple on a battery was, the throw was actually shorter with the kick placed that way. The blue box was facing out toward you with the contact of the kick resting right inside the opening. The throw was so short that the locking mechanism did not function.

Now with this segeliei kick that probably cant be done unless you can figure out a way to get a grounding wire to attach to that ground of the kick. Perhaps the kickstand would do the job but since i've never seen the newer kick I dont know.

Anyway i'm enjoyiing my grand with the RM2 sans kick. Good luck with it. Beats cigs. :p

This worked for me pretty well for holding the kick in place.

One easy way is to get some copper foil tape - runs a few $ on ebay for a ton of it. It is commonly used in electric guitar repairs. Cut a piece out and slip it in under the spring and make sure the contact point of the kick - either of them should work.

If you don't take the backing off the tape it is a great way to test to see if you like it. No soldering, wires, etc. If you like it you can put it in and keep it.

I'm not using my kick at the moment but I an take some pictures if you want. Come to think of it, if anyone wants some copper foil tape PM me your address. Seems I bought enough for a zombie apocalypse.
