Well, after 5-hrs. of vaping here's my take...
What an amazing device !
Vape like a connoisseur. Good throat-hit, nice flavor, gigantic vapor and what a good looking APV to hold in ur hands. This one's a HIT from Sigelei, probably as good as the original (whatever it's name was). With this Mod with u I don't think u could ask for anything better.
Tell me about
build quality, or QC issues from China. The
Sigelei #8 that I received is flawless. Period. The machining is superb, every detail is taken care of. The satin body finish is spick & span. Not a single blemish or scar I could detect, whereas I had read online that the #8 is marred of finishing (sic!). The end caps (top & bottom) r flush-fit, the same dia as the body. I believe the first models weren't, had a slight larger size, but not this one. This is exactly one smooth size all along, bottom to top. And both being chromed - man what workmanship! - in contrast to the satin body - it's by far the best dual-tone equipment I've seen... the last I admired in this class was my FJ Cruizer!
It
weighs a ton... literally! The thing is pretty heavy... rock solid. With this in my pockets - I don't've to worry being mugged in Madagascar, LOL. U can drop it from Kilimanjaro and I bet it'd not get a dent! Neither would it's sections be de-threaded.
PBusardo was right, Buttery, eh? Both the end-caps, as well as the extension tube, really screws to one another super smooth. No creaking, no cranking, it's machining par excellence. And once fit - they become one unit. It takes efforts to find the seams... that good a fit it is!
Uh, the
firing pin. Another feather in their cap. It's a soft push... needs minimal efforts, and it fires everytime. Everytime I pressed it - it gave me a good vape. And the mechanism is sturdy as well. Flushed button housing, just right the size, the locking ring is well made - very finger friendly - and the diamond cuts on it does make it shine - just like a De Beers Platinum on Madonna's finger. The thing is both aesthetically beautiful, as well as operationally pleasing.
The
vent holes at the bottom and the four airway slits on top r prudently pierced. I know there's nothing much to discuss on it, just that they r functional - is good enough to state... but what if they r laser incisions? What if those add to the beauty of the device? Ya right? That's correct folks... they r designed, placed, cut to such precision that it deserves mention. Together they offer intrinsic exquisiteness to the #8... it makes u feel that the device was well thought off. Has passed thru some good work-hands. It makes me feel that I indeed hold a piece of art here.
BOTTOMLINE: Should I've gone into such details over a Mech. Mod offered by the Chinese Assembly Line? Yes, I should. This device is a design marvel. Created flawlessly every inch of it. Works like a charm. Feels good to hold. Has a classy touch to it all around. Would thus, be a head-turner when out & about. AND it gives me a very satisfying vape. Yes, I don't yet have the Aga-T2 or the RSST (in the pipeline though), with either of them - this Mod would be a killer beau & a workhorse
! Which is why I'd recommend it anyday to a fellow vaper.
The only gripe I have is that they could have
added their logo. What about all those Caravellas, Chi Yous, GGTS, Poldiacs et all sporting theirs. Just like the eGo - this is a class by itself. And I wouldn't mind flaunting the Sigelei logo over it. It is cheap, right... but given it's workmanship - I'd guess those Super-Ts, Paps, Rollers etc.
r overpriced!
