Has anybody heard from Vaportekusa if the mods on preorder have the same issues?

Posted using the beast, the Samsung galaxy note 2

When I spoke with john at vaportek he said that he was contacted by segelei and was told there would be a slight delay due to a problem they were having with the switch. As it stands now the ship date from sigelei is the 26th of April.

I was inquiring about the #19. Not sure if this effects the #20, but I would venture to guess that they were ordered together.

If I may divert back to the #13 vs #8. When we received the #13 in Mich's Co-Op, it was a horrible design as we know. Mich graciously pinged Sigelei about it, and was promptly sent #8 button switches and bottom Batt caps. I first tried to sand the new contact post to reveal brass, but it appears to be solid SS. The old button and post was Brass. The new negative post, seems only to be Brass on the very top, about 1mm deep? Anyone else discover this?

I'm now in desperate need for an "original" #13 button and post assembly, to retrofit the #8 I have...

I tried sanding down the pin and got the same result as you. I was told that the chrome plating is just very thick but didn't go any further. It works fine with what I did. As far as the button post, did you use a dremel or something on it? How did it get ruined?

I am talking about the neg post that has the spring and screws into the bottom of the mod. The part far right in the pic.

ok. that is also brass on mine. The only part of my #8 that isnt brass are the tubes.

anyone know a good place to buy some 3mm silica wick? I wanna be ready so when my #19 comes in.

The house of vapor usually has it at great prices but it looks like they are oos. I would just buy a smaller diameter and do extra loops because I dont know of anywhere else that can compete with their pricing. Vaporbank did have 15' for about $8 but they are oos, too.

Im sure Winchell with have his thougths as well, but basically this is what I did.

I went to my local auotmotive paint and body shop and purchased (@ .97 each)

Sheets of wet/dry sand paper:
#600
#800
#1000
#1200
#1500
#2000

Of course this is over kill, but the idea is to start course, and finish up fine. I used water in a spray bottle while sanding.

The toughest part by far is to get the chrome of the caps. I used course to start, then medium, then fine: Emery cloth from Home depot. It comes in a three pack for around $6 for all three grits.

Using an old carto, I put the mod (in sections, top/bottom) chucked up to a drill. In my case, a drill press. Using medium speed, I gave it a spin while sanding.

The final buff was used with "Mothers" mag & aluminum polish, on a buffing wheel.

I also have polish/buffing wheels and rouge, but find the sandpaper method much easier.

Thanks for outlining the method zippersnapper!

I might have started out vaping to quit smoking but the hobby aspects of it are HUGE for me now! :D

Lol !!.. I have a whole new hobby now..I'm on a polishing frenzy !!

I can't seem to find anyone who sells 7mm X .05 bolts? It sure would make things easier...

There must be a SAE equivalent?
