I don't want to brag but sometimes it pays to stay up until 3AM on Facebook so you can catch a vendor in person and harass them into putting the #19 up on pre-order in the first place :D

Still, I don't expect mine until next week some time. We'll see! Already ordered my third AGA-T2 ($19.99 @ vaporbank.com spring sale), an AGI and a pair of mini DIDs, a handful of new drip tips and a pair of 18350s... just preparing for the #19 to get here!

Button: I didn't need any thread lock, just have it a snug twist by hand, it's never come off on me and I always need the pliers to take it off.

About the 19, I might get the afpv before the 19 at this rate lol, sigelei girl told me they were delayed because of some minor changes but wouldn't tell me what they were...

Protected batteries are one option, safe-chemistry batteries are another option (the AW IMRs are safe-chemistry batteries). Read this on battery types and safety. Be sure to read the thread linked at the top of that page as well...

Stone do you have #19? I think that was a requisite to reply :D

If I had a #19 (soon I hope) I would suggest this site for some good battery info Battery Information Table of Contents, Basic to Advanced

hi guys, just found this thread. ive been all about vv devices and saw no point for mechanical mods. but now, im getting morer into rba's and just got a nimbus. i setup the nimbus and it will not fire on my MVP. so now im thinking why i didnt grab a mech mod sooner lol..

i preordered the ELA by super T, and in the mean time i got in a co-op for a #19. i saw todds review and i think its gonna be fun tinkering w it.. i thought i would have the #19 already but u know how co-ops go.. question is hopefully the co-op here on ecf gets rollin with #20 sigelei.. is the #20 full mechanical with that side button? hows that work.. anyone interested in a #20 head to the co-op planning section and lets get this rollin

There is already a Co-Op for the Sigelei #20, and it is close to delivered. It is possible that there will be a Round 2 for that Co-Op, or you could start another interest thread. We have not received our Co-Op #20s, though, so I can't give you a review.

I can't wait to get my #20. They look nice. They also have a locking button and are flush when in 18350 mode. The one on the right in the first picture has an ego to 510 adapter. I guess the one I am getting from a co-op comes with the adapter. There is also a few holes drilled in the top cap I guess for airflow for cartos and stuff.

I'm looking into getting a #8 soon, but I have no experience with mech mods. Been vaping for a good year and half or so now, so I am very familiar with cartomizers, and with budget tankomizer type things, but these new-fangled, higher end tanks are a bit out of my realm of knowledge. I see you guys talking about using something with lower resistance it seems like, for a better experience from a mechanical mod, which makes sense, with their being no circuitry to boost voltage etc. I have a Lavatube currently, so I am used to using standard resistance cartos for the most part. Anyway, looking to purchase a stainless and glass tank type of system, something awesome but not super expensive, if that exists. What do you guys run on your Sig 8's, anything to recommend? Thanks.

You have a lot of extreme vapers on this thread, I count myself among them, who love rebuilding their atomizers, usually genesis style or drippers, with a coil very near or below 1 ohm. The regulated mods like the Vamo, Evic, Provari, etc. will limit your ability to run really low ohm coils. That said, my #8 only gets 3 devices on it, an RSST, an Aga-T2, or a Terminator-C. All of these come close to the 23mm diameter of the #8 and at 0.8 - 1.0 ohms are great vapes.

Those look rad, but perhaps a bit out of my league. I don't own a multimeter, nor any knowlege/materials as to building my own wicks or whatever. I guess I need a more entry-level tank that would be a good fit for this mod.

question.. can i use lr carto tank on mech mods? or sr carto tanks. or is mech mods just for rebuildables?

Either is fine, but if you're used to the higher voltage of VV/VW devices, keep in mind a mech is limited to the battery, 4.2 V max and 3.7 V nominal. I use RBAs, and RDAs at 2.0 ohm w/ cotton wick frequently, but I think the majority use mechs for the sub ohm genesis style setups with SS mesh.

I'll second that. I use an AGA-T2 at 1.1 ohms with ss mesh and a Smok RDA dripper at 0.9 ohms with 3 x 3mm wicks of silica. Those numbers aren't just arbitrary, at least not for me. Those seem to provide not only an excellent vape but also the most consistent one, during the span of the battery charge life. Fresh off the charger at 4.2 volts (leaving any fractional voltage drop out of the estimation), around 19 watts. It starts feeling just a bit weak I know from checking it with my vamo that it's time to put it back on the charger... around 3.6-3.8 volts (about 15 watts at the coil).

That said I have a second AGA-T2 coiled for 1.5 ohms that I switch back and forth between my mech and my vamo. Also an excellent vape.

An SR carto won't give you much vapor on a 3.7v bat. You're looking at around 5 watts of power with an SR atty. I would go with anything 2ohms and below depending on how you like your vape. Mech mods are primarily used for low res and sub-ohm vaping these days. If you have a Kick, you can use it to get variable wattage. I do that sometimes with my Terminator RBAs if the resistance is a little high for my battery. The Kick can regulate the wattage up to 10watts.
