Holy crap this thread is hyooooge!

It's so huge, in fact, that I know I'm about to ask a question that is gonna make about 80% of you nice
folks wanna slap me. But I DID search first....so here goes:

Outside of a co-op, if I want a good price on a #19, what site should I be watching?
"Good" means less than $50, although $35-$40 would be ideal.
Sun-Vapers appears to have had some in stock, albeit briefly, but there's no indication
about when they might get more.

And pre-orders are closed at vaportekusa.

I might go for the Caravella clone but pre-orders might close before I can afford to get in.

Any suggestions? BESIDES for me to ....?

Keep watching....Todd changes out the stock spring with a hot spring and it works like a champ.

Ah. I've never bought from vaportekusa before and assumed that when it came to these high-demand
preorders that they only ordered enough to fill those pre-orders. Of course, it only make sense
that they would eventually have remaining stock.

Also, I did not realize that there were two versions of the switch. The listing at sun-vapers
makes a point to state that it's a non-magnetic switch. Then again, he also says that he won't
be stocking any more until some issues are resolved. Perhaps he's means the change to the magnetic
switch.....

If no one else does, ill clear out the switch housing. Even if I have to mangle it. 3 units coming my way.

The fact that the internals are brass and maybe copper without it being serviceable is silly.

Those two holes on the sides are perfect.
I may use one as my fire button and uses a potentiometer where the mechanical fire button is. Or use the open holes as up and down buttons in association with a large fire button where the original is.

OK that explains it... i turned it off when he couldn't get the switch apart... I figured that must be the problem.

That said... why is there even a spring in it? It telescopes.

Kinda disappointed since I've already ordered a #20 and just now seeing Todd's review.

May have to put this one up on the classies as soon as it comes in. I was kind of expecting an adjustable center pin at least...now I gotta find a hot spring??

If you want a magnetic switch I'd hold off until someone has confirmed receipt of one with such a switch

use button tops... upside down.

Or a small magnet... something.

I mean we're talking about the spring causing MASSIVE voltage drop... seems best to just remove it.

For the same reason as the Roller/Dingo does, its for safety.

The magnet does *kinda* do something. It attracts to the battery enough to make the throw just a tad easier. Without a battery my switch is just a bit stiffer than with a battery for whatever that is worth.

A fixed negative contact wouldnt allow all 18350s to screw flush between tube sections with a non adjustable center pin. Also a smaller height 18350 that they didnt account for may not make contact when the tube is in its shortest mode. Even though 18350's should be a certain height as the name might suggest, not all 18350's are the same height. Finally, a spring is probably the most simple, cost effective, and safe solution.

the lack of adjustable center post is REALLY annoying...especially with the raised 510 connector.

I mean, after grinding down the connector, I don't expect anything to sit flush without being able to adjust that pin.

I was really hoping this wouldn't suck... I was torn between a Roller and an NZonic... the NZonic was in stock first... So Now I figured I'd pick up a #20 as a backup...

Now I'm thinking I'll pass.

A hot spring is a brass spring, sometimes plated. The spring compresses if too much current passes through it, disconnecting the power source from the circuit.

It's not worth much to me... but I have an NZonic so know full well:

1. How it is supposed to work

2. How stupid simple the design is

I have no idea why Segelei actually made it more complicated and less functional. Seems it would actually require effort to screw it up like they did.

Actually not a great idea, reversing the circuit is never recommended. I've seen other mods that do, and just shake my head.
