Hey guys i posted on here before about my sigeli having problems. Basically, any rda with whatever build I put on I get a burnt taste and a red hot coil like a hot spot. When I dry burn the coil it is 1000% completely fine and it's a clean build. But right when I wick it and juice it up I get problems. I get hot spots all of a sudden and a horrible horrible taste that makes me want to completely stop vaping. But when I put it on any of my mechanical mods there are no problems what so ever?Any suggestions?

I'm not terribly experienced with the high powered box mods, but my first guess is your wicking method is choking off the coil, not allowing enough juice flow will let the coil heat up to red.

Try smaller diameter wicks through the coil, and trim the ends so they lay in the base. Don't twist a wick too tight, that compresses it too much. Just use less.
Less is more.

You also might be using way too many watts. :p

I can agree with the OP and I've been building coils for 6+ years now.

Something that I found that works, maybe it will help you out.
Ensure that you don't have any loose leads and that all the coils are compressed properly, the high end box mods tend to read ohm's at a rather high interval and will adjust without warning accordingly. I found that out myself and led to hot spots on the coils as a couple had fused together. Pulse heating is your friend at first, tap and go method that I often used on a fully charged battery with mechanical mods works wonders (or can start out a a really low wattage of 10 seems to help).

Keep your wicks wet at all times, although not confirmed yet by me but a friend who has the SMY says the ohms change when the wick is dry (which would increase your voltage at random). I've not seen this flux yet but I'd suspect that its there (and the volt meter gets use again).
Beyond that just fiddling with it until its right on spot really, I apologize that I don't have anything more to offer advice wise as I'm still learning the in's and out's of mine. I got it as a Christmas present so kind of newbie to this mod myself.

Why are you using a sub ohm coil when you have all those watts to work with??

Ooooh, raises hand...

I don't know why anyone else does but I know why i do...
Its about direct drive voltage, basically I worked it out and figured that if you use a .5 ohm coil in the device then at 100w you are using the 8.4v maximum supplied without the device having to "boost" the voltage any further. Not that I'll ever go that high but this is the reason for me doing it.

I remember a discussion at a B&M shop once that the maximum sustained voltage can be no higher then the maximum voltage of your battery or batteries (now a days this is not entirely true) but still to say I look on the website and find out what the max driving voltage of the device can output, then figure out what the minimum ohm the coil has to be to achieve that max voltage. Needless to say that should I ever step up in wattage I won't decrease the oHm's of my coil to match, I enjoy not breathing in fire hot vapor when vaping, but yah this is why I do that personally.

I'm not sure why the OP is sub ohm'ing his device, didn't really ask that question in truth.

I only have this happen when the screws for the leads are loose. Resistance will change to like 1 ohm and then voltage increases and you get a terribly warm burnt hit. I would check center post insulator or the other lead screws that hopefully came with the atty. Or try adjusting 510 pin connector on atty or mod.

Just looking at the first pic the coils look like they need to be compressed again\more with tweezers.
