YES! I finally found a quit banner that allows you to use your own images. The Provarinati can now have "ProVari" themed quit banners!


Edit: It does not play nicely with gifs, though. I have to go to work now, so I'll try it with png and bmp images later. I know it can be done properly...

You know you just opened yourself up for whole bunch of new banner requests. I already have an idea on how to modify mine. I just wish I had a clue how to do it myself.

I finally found a quit banner that is marginally acceptable to replace the one taken from me. I would like to humbly request a Provarinati banner and a small quit banner. My quit date was 7/11/13 and I was smoking 2 packs a day at about $6.00 per pack (don't know if you need all that info). I love your work PoM and Ocelot's too. So much artistic talent here.

I like blues and purples and reds. And Monet, Renoir, Degas and Escher. I just passed my 9 month not smoking and my birthday is this coming Thursday. My avatar is my beloved departed dog and I have a calico kitty now. I would like you to be creative and play. I am sure I will love whatever you come up with. This would be a wonderful gift.

I haz done it!
Font and font size, as well as font color is editable. Requests will be done on a first come first served basis, and I won't be able to do any until this weekend. As for how I got it to work, I uploaded a .bmp image to photobucket and used that. .png and .gif images all had their colors reversed.

The smallest font available is the one used in my test above.

I will size the quit banners to fit next to the standard ProVarinati size sigs most of you have, when viewed on a computer. If you are using a phone or tablet to view the standard ECF forum, the quit banner may be shown below your Provarinati banner instead of alongside. (I view the forum on my phone is standard format. Tapatalk sucks, and ECF mobile is even worse).

Thanks for the link PoM. Kind of fun to play around with and have a quit banner up again for a while anyway since my one year smoke free is rapidly approaching. Instead of using the $$$ saved on analogs though I used the long range break even day since I've spent three times on vaping what the analogs would have cost since I quit. It's really just a ficticious date though IAMA I'm sure that I'll continue to spend way more on vaping than what the analogs used to cost.

FWIW I saved the banner in .jpg and had no problems.

I've got one ready to go but ECF won't take the upload because it's too large (saved in *.jpg, *.png and *.gif) and Photobucket won't upload it and tells me it's not a valid URL. Grrrrrrrrr *.gif won't work because the colors all turn red.

Don't try to upload it. Use the same process I outlined in my blog for getting signatures to work.

This is what I wanted to do but it's too big. I'd rather have it all in one than strung out across the bottom of the page. I've used all the tricks in my magic graphic hat so possibly you might have some other ideas for reducing the upload size. I'm in no great hurry so don't stress about getting "a-round-tuit".

Use this one. And yes, the counter will still work. (edit: this is actually the only way the counter will work) Per the instructions on that site-

When it is how you want it, copy the url from your browser address bar when viewing your sig
and paste it into your sig url

Make a 400X65 background with your chosen graphics app; save it to a host site; copy and paste it's URL there into the link PoM provided to generate a working banner; copy and paste the banner's URL into your sig line on ECF undefr edit signature - as simple as that.

Edit: Here's the original image, if you wanted to use it for your avatar or phone background. I really enjoyed making this signature, it would never have occurred to me to go with a "Dia de los Muertos" theme.

True, supporters do get more latitude in signatures/file size, but..... if the sigcapture of the banner you posted above in post #311 with 4 lines is the size it saves as, it is not accepted because it's size is 503X98 rather than the 400X65 max allowed (not it's file size). I don't know what the red lines are about, but regardless that capture saves as way too big!

Don't know what your input text was for the text you got either... but I just did one using your text free 400X65 background with my 3 lines of 16pt text, it stays at the 400X65 size, and it would work just fine in place of your current text free sig banner. So just use a smaller font point size for more lines. Might be a trail and error thing to get it, but it's easy enough to do by simply submitting your input data to generate a banner, then backing up to alter your input data and resubmit it as many times as it takes to get it how you want it while staying within the size limits. All I have to offer... good luck.
