hello everyone! I am a week into dripping and I would like to start purchasing more stuff for rebuilding. I was hoping to get help with the various silica wick (1mm-3mm) and wire (28 gauge - 32 gauge). I'm pretty sure there's more stuff out there such as ribbon wire etc. but I could use help with knowing what to start getting, size of silica and types of wire. So far I have kanthal ribbon wire (5mm x 0.1mm) and 3mm silica wick which I'm still waiting for in the mail. Please help thanks!

Best place I've seen for wire prices and recommended on this forum several times in my brief time reading/posting here. Links is for 30awg kanthal A1 100 ft roll but they have a wide selection. For wick I'll defer to someone more familiar. I've gone to the local B & M for that.

Kanthal Wire 30 Gauge RW0107 - 100 FT 0.39oz Series A-1 Resistance AWG

what kind of device are you using? regulated, vv, vw/vw, mechanical?
kanthal 32 a1 works just fine for me, i also prefer 3mm wick, you can unbraid it to your needs. thehouseofvapor offers it at .35 cents per foot, it's currently out of stock but once it's in, it flies!

I'm currently using a sigelei #8 and #19. RBA's being used is an igo-L and a nemesis clone that Im waiting in the mail haha! Ok I'll check out that site and hopefully they restock soon. It looks like I'll be staring with a purchase of kanthal a1 wire 28 gauge -32 gauge and silica wick from 2mm-3mm. Any reason to get a 1mm silica wick?

@Zeeque - I'll be building RBA/RDA. To be honest I never rebuilt a vivinova. Tell me how that goes.

Hi again Kool. So in your situation I don't believe there would be any reason you would need the 1mm wick size. I have used 1mm size for vivi and eVod rebuilds in the past because it lays flatter than the bulkier sizes, but I always double or triple or quad it in those anyway, but they have square openings that the 1mm sits into nicer when its laying side-by-side. For the attys you have listed I don't thing the smaller wick will do you much good. I have seen many folks "make" the smaller diameter wicks work in the dripping attys but if given the opportunity I'm sure the thicker wicks are easier to work with and probably perform just as well(if not better)... Good luck with your search.

this helps me a lot thank you. I can start off with 2mm and 3mm. Now time to go shopping for that :toast:
