Any way to get rid of the weird taste on silica? rebuilt my evod to 1.2 ohms and the taste of my juice just isnt coming through. All i taste is the silica.

Side note: When I torch silica, it turns from white to black. Is this normal?

U using normal 3.7 batt? Dun think silica should turn black...

Did you torch it till it glows red or just torch a bit only? There are bound to be a little impurities that get deposited during the manufacturing process so it may turn black if you just torch it a bit. once the silica glows red hot all the impurities should get vaporized.

You should always torch silica till it glows white/red like in this video. The 1st part is torching the core of a zippo wick which is purportedly to be made of Silica as well but that thing melts. Skip to 30secounds to see real silica in action.

when you torch it use the blue part of the flame......shouldnt go brown though......at least mine didn't

It really depends on your silica. Even high end ones like Ekowool produces faint smell.

You can consider trying sterile cotton. Clean flavors.

Any brands to recommend for cotton?

Generally go for organic and/or sterile cottons. I personally use sterile cotton balls. No brands. Just go look for it. Make up shops maybe?

CVS carries sterile and organic......i use sterile as it usually does not have alot of impurities......just a preference though

I use 3mm silica wick from germany recommended by Bros here. Got stuck with it ever since, intro it to my frens and all have good feedback too.

Just go to Guardian and ask for sterile cotton.
