I recently purchased silver wire. I thought why not try it. I wrapped 5 coils on my ss wick using a provari and RSST. It says it was 30g wire with .999 which I didnt understand what the .999 was for. I was just going off of kanthal 30 gauge which would at the least fire with 5 coils. I kept getting Lo on the reader. I put 7 coils on it and still was getting the same reading. Am I correct to assume that silver wire is super low resistant wire. I thought that the silver heats up quicker than the kanthal when I tried to torch it. I also broke a peace of it off when I heated it too much. This is using a regular flame by the way. So far not a fan at all. I was wondering if anyone has used silver for their ss wick setup. If so, can you give me a little information about it? Thanks for reading, happy vaping!

Just about shot Mountain Dew out my nose... Yea... What Thompson said... Silver & nickle wires are only use to connect a coil to the rba terminals. They are not to be used to create the coils themselves.

At least you were using a ProVari... Had you been using a mechanical device, you'd have dead shorted your battery.

Never be embarrassed (in~bare~assed). :) the only embarrassing question is really the questions that are not asked.

There will be some who read this that may have thought or were about to try the same thing. You have just saved them from a similar experience or even saved them from putting themselves into danger. There look at that you are a hero!

How do you delete threads. This is so embarrassing!!! Thanks guys

Nah... Don't sweat it. The fact is that there is a huge amount of disjointed information floating around. To someone who's not already familiar with the concepts, piecing it all together can be a real challenge.

Never be afraid to ask a question. There is a decent learning curve involved... And remember...Better to make Mtn Dew come out my nose that it is to hurt yourself. ;)
