isn't the button losing it's luster and developing a dark worn spot? I know it's not your button but still, mine's starting to look pretty sad already, I wonder what it will look like in 6 months and buffing out doesn't fix it. I do commend you for building the batt mod, I appreciate you keeping the free interprise spirit alive, we need more people willing to take a chance! oh yeah, the power point shaft is only pressed in, it can start woobling and you'll need to press it back into the body, but thats not a defect unless it continues to occurr. Now, do you see a dark spot on your button? It's gonna get bigger...

sorry, I work in quality control and everything is suspect of premature failure at the get-go....sorry you didn't "like this" ....I didn't mean any harm..
Hmm don't see a dark spot mine is THE oldest button in use(as far as the SB). I do buff mine out a lot, the dark spot is oxidation from the oil in your skin. As far as the power point, the "head" of the SB is .250in thick, the knurl on the actual fitting is only .157in from the flange, don't see that as an issue. The pilot hole is .004in smaller than the fitting, so it is a solid press(any smaller it would damage the threads). Anything else

how about we just forget about me bringing this up? I told you nobody talks about it. Lets just see what happens down the road. The button is clearly reacting to the acid on my skin, you maybe lucky. But I don't think so....I don't want you guys ...... off, I've known for a couple of weeks the finish would come off...I really was hoping somebody was going to report it, I'm convinced it's "global"...I could be wrong....
I bet you hate this switch don't you. it prolly barely passes your rigid specs, doesn't it....I'm sure you went to great lengths to get this switch...business is a ..... today.....you work your .... off night and day and it comes down to a switch made by somebody else.

I just took a good look at the button on my Silver Bullet. It's still bright and shiny as the day I got it.
Maybe this is a user specific issue then.
The switches are nickel plated brass, I have actually buffed some of mine off down to the brass(used wrong compound ooops). Maybe you got a bad plated one? Damn it start taking soda ash pills asap! LOL
now that could be very possible, my button might have been made friday at 5pm
right before a holiday! We all know about those products! Time will tell.
HOLD RIGHT THERE! Your telling me, if I buff it down, I'd have a shiny smooth bass (colored) button ....correct? do you remember the compound you used.....the button mod is born....

Black some companies call it #3 LOL if you buff the switch directly make sure to wipe it clean, they are resistant to low velocity liquid from the front but buffing compound dunno lol
nah...too risky....I don't want to take it apart to clean it up if I goof it up...finally a reliable batt! And at high 4.2 volt power too! that alone helps to keep my atty's clean!
hmmm, maybe, I can try....it's the size of a pencil eraser, right in the center of the button
