Simple advice for a newbie

Hi there everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can give me simple advice about which electronic cigarette to buy. I've been looking at loads of different websites and the choice is just bewildering.

What I'm looking for is a product which has been tried and tested, has a decent battery life, is not too big and cumbersome to carry around, is compatible with lots of generic refills and comes in a good reasonably priced starter pack with enough to keep me going for at least a couple of weeks.

I gave up smoking 2 years ago but have been chewing nicotine gum for all of that time. I had a puff on an e cig in a bar a few weeks ago and I know that for me it would be a hundred times better to use this option when I'm out with friends. Chewing gum is really unsightly and it makes me feel self-conscious when I'm talking to people.

Thanks very much for any advice you can give. Please remember I just want some plain advice. I don't understand things like...

"So how about the regular 306 on an adjustable mod or a reg 306 on a 3.7 compared to a standard 510"

...which I found in the review section of this forum.

P.S. I'm based in Scotland.

Hi Hamboid, quite a few people start with the Tornado, great battery life but slightly larger than the normal Titan(same atomiser, different size batteries) both available here:-

Electronic Cigarette Starter Kits / E Liquid from Totally Wicked

Check out some reviews on YTube if you can,you can see what size they are then and whether you'd be comfy with them.It takes a while but you do get used to the difference.

YouTube - REVIEW OF THE TORNADO E-NI (ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE)

The numbers 510,901 is the atomizer(the heater bit)...it gets easier :)

Well Hamboid, I would get something with a long battery life. Most people would agree that a good starter e cig would be the 510 eGo kit. My girlfriend has one and the battery lasts all day for her.

I started out with a slim 901 kit and the batteries only lasted 2-3 hours before having to be recharged. Pain in the .....

Good luck

If you don't like the slightly larger battery on the eGo, I would feel confident recommending a Joye 510 MEGA kit. Longer battery life than the regular 510 kit, but less than the eGo. Slimmer profile, and same voltage as the eGo.

You will buy a kit of some sort, and enjoy it. Don't worry too much about all the data you've processed in the last few days. It can be overwhelming.

Things to focus on:
1. Good supplier - make sure there are good reviews of the hardware supplier located here
2. Check out this thread for a supplier in your region to keep shipping down and for possible discounts/coupon codes.
3. Remember, there are no silly questions! This community will help with any issues you run into. We really enjoy helping those in need. Even seasoned vets post on this forum with questions.

Whichever kit you get, remember to order some sampler 3-5ml bottles so you can find all the new flavors you didn't even know you loved.

This is all excellent advice. It really helped me to get an e-cig that's carried by a number of different vendors so I was able to price shop for parts in the future. If I had it to do it all over again I would have skipped the Joye 510 and moved straight to an eGo.

My first order would have been: Joye eGo kit containing 2 manual batts (batteries), 2 attys (atomizers), a cone, 5 carts (cartridges) and a charger; and a bottle of e-liquid.

Notes: The cone just screws onto the battery to make it look nice. I use the manual batts because I've heard the auto batts can be finicky.

My second order would have been a 510 PT (Passthrough) and a plug in adapter for home use because it saves on battery life, as well as a few empty cartos (cartomizers).

Just my personal preference but hope this helps.
