Simple Mod Question -- Aspire Atlantis and Copper Nemesis Clone

Hi all,

I'm only new to this site, not new to vaping. I'm currently in college and have a pretty decent understanding of electronics and technology, and definitely batteries. The only reason I bring this question up is because I confused myself while looking for the answer. The question is:

Is an Aspire Atlantis tank on top of a copper Nemesis clone a safe set up?

As I said before, I'm not a newbie, and I know what I'm doing when using mods and RDAs, but wanted some additional advice. I really enjoy the simplicity of my Aspire Atlantis tank, and the customization options (as well as the bottom firing button) on mechanical mods. I played around with RDAs some, but I find that I enjoy vaping from a tank much more than dripping.

My current setup: Aspire Atlantis tank (Genuine)
Copper Nemesis Clone (Clone)

Power Source: eFest 2500 mAh IMR 18650 3.7V Li-Mn 35A battery. (Sorry for the ridiculous amount of details, but I figured I would rather over-specify than under-specify.)

I'm incredibly grateful for any help received. Thanks!

JD

Welcome JD :)

Not familiar with either the Atlantis or the Nemesis, but I did find this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/644404-aspire-atlantis-hcigar-nemesis-clone-first-mech-mod.html

From what I remember, the eFests are not continuous discharge at their printed ratings. I think yours is more like 20A at best. (I usually figure 50% of the printed rating for my eFests and then still shoot for only 50-70% - but I'm wimpy :D )

I'm sure someone with way more knowledge will be along. Mostly wanted to say hello!

That setup is safe. The 0.5ohm coils in the Atlantis will be pulling about 8.4 amps from your battery, which has a reliable continuous discharge rate of 20 amps. Generating about 35 watts of power which is a respectable vape.

I agree. What's unsafe is putting the Atlantis on a mech with a hybrid top cap, like a 4nine or SMPL. Only use it with regular top capes like your Nemi has.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Sonicbomb, I really appreciated your straightforward answer. That made it easy for me to understand. DingerCPA, thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to see that this forum has a supportive atmosphere.

Glad to have been of help. I've only been using this board for a relatively short time. But I have been pleasantly surprised how erudite and polite the folk who hang out here are.
