When I first got into mods I found that the threads locking up was a major pain. Went to my local B+M for a solution and he just wrapped a paper towel around my mod and used pliers. That did not sit well with me, and waiting through freeze/heat cycles would not work on the go. I knew there had to be a better way. Being pretty much self taught I had to come up with something myself.
This is what I found.
At home I use small strap wrenches. A few bucks at Wal-mart.
In my go kit I keep two rubber bracelets (the "live strong" kind). I use these as make shift strap wrenches. Never a problem since.
No need for rubber gloves and no risk of scratches.
Hope this might help someone out there.
