Fantastic intro post - I wish more people would do this! I'd love to hear more about who you are, aside from the vaping piece... what brought you to vaping and led you to quit?

I'm 35 and realized that I have been smoking for 20 years now, only pausing a couple of times over the past two decades. I stopped briefly when my ex-wife was pregnant each time with our two kids. Those quits only lasted for the 7-9 months until she had the kids, and when she started smoking again, so did I. I really tried to give up smoking again a few years ago and quit cold turkey for about 4 months, until the stresses of life started piling on and I decided I could have just one cig. I deserved it after everything I'd been doing, and I'd been SOOOO good for four months. Yeah, I think we all know how that goes.

Fast forward again to last summer. When we were in FL last year, my sis-in-law had picked up a Blu disposable. I decided to give it another shot. I sucked down that disposable in one evening, and we were 10 miles from the nearest place to get another. So, that attempt was VERY short lived.

2014... I was at a friend's house for a get-together. He's a non-smoker, so all of us who did smoke were congregated outside. One of his other friends pulled out this strange looking device and started puffing away. I was intrigued. I always thought of e-cigs as Blu, or other generic cig-alike brands. I'd never seen anything like a MOD. A couple weeks later, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I started researching one day at work, found ECF and my head just started spinning. Information overload. I looked up a local B&M, shot over after work and walked out with a SMOK Winder starter kit and a couple bottles of juice. I smoked two analogs that night, put my pack down (with six packs left in the freezer) and haven't touched one since. It just took a decent starter kit to get me going, and now as my wife says, I'm obsessed. I've upgraded to a Sigelei Zmax v5, which I'm running KFL+ clones on, with my Helios RDA clone for tasting. And now, Nicoticket juices to keep me going!

Simular for me only that I quit for nine years the day after I lost my Pop to lung cancer.( 3 packs a day forever) The stresses of life were starting to pile up and I found myself with the urge to start smoking again. A friend of mine had converted to vaping and let me try it. The short story is that the stresses are now history and I'm happy as Larry and still enjoying the hell out of vaping. My only wish is that vaping was popular back then as it my have bought him a little more time.

Very true BBM!! I love these stories. I would LOVE to set up a microphone in front of the nation's capitol and just have people tell their stories one after another 24/7. It's stories like ours that puts a fire in my belly about the "rulings" to "protect us and above all save the children" from these "dangerous" products when the alternative is so so SO much worse!!

Hmmmm...lets see, 4,000 things we KNOW are bad for us or four things we have no proof either way on at the moment. I will say flat out I'll go for that 4 over 4,000. Even if it was proven that vaping turned us into tortoises I would still vape. Tortoises are cool...

Think of it as us holding it for safe keeping - forced steeping ;) Thank you for the order!~

And yes, these good folks are the most shameless enablers I have ever met - love em, every one.

Very very similar story to mine - Katy casually mentioned that "she had heard good things about ecigs and that I should do some research." Google ecigarettes, find ECF, register, ask for a recommendation for a good starter kit, 3 days later a pair of Spinner 1300mah VV ego devices with Kanger T3 clearos showed up - juice left something to be desired, so I resolved to do DIY. Shelved a Master's of Science in Clinical Counseling to troll ECF and pimp eLiquid. The End. ;)

There are so many people in my life that fit into that "just a little more time category." It seems like everyone over 55 whom I ever loved, and also smoked, is gone.

The sad part is, the older we get, the hits just keep on coming. It has arrived to the point that I no longer read the "Irish Sports page. (an endearing term for the obits) As we age, we learn to cherish every moment, begin to realize our limitations and start to take better care of our selves. Unfortunately, for some, they never receive the memo. The happy side is for those of us that do survive with our health is that life only gets better! I, for one, am looking forward to becoming an old fart! :p

At least you still get to put your degree to use with this bunch of fanatic nuts!

I think that what makes PBC taste so good is that you found some magical way to extract the nuttiness of this forum to put in the juice!
