Ok I'm still learning. What is the difference between single and dual coil cartos? I understand and get the math but just can't figure out the reason why one is better than the other. I usually vape a 2.4ohm nova and I've got a lot of LR boges laying around. Just enlighten me. So yes opinions are very important. I use a lot of different devices and if I buy a tank it will go on my vmax. Help please. I'm so confused.

Just like with juice flavors, everyone will like one over the other.

I started out using the Smoktek DCT cartos and kept buying those mainly because that is what came with the tanks. At that time I was using 3.7v mods. Over time, I realized that I was noticing a burnt taste to them, not every one, but more than I felt I should. I started wondering what the difference between dual and single coil cartos were.

Researching here on ECF only gave me opinions and not a lot of facts. I read that dual coils were created to give 3.7v devices the ability to provide more vapor for those devices. But I also read that they required at least 4.5v for them to really kick in and provide the vapor they were designed to. Go figure. Most everyone agreed that they burnt thru more juice and ate into their battery time more than single coils do.

I decided to give single coils a trial. I bought a dozen standard resistance (2.0 ohm) with pre-drilled holes for all of my tanks and proceeded to switch out all of my tanks, each with their own flavor of juice. Its been over a month now since the switch. I've gotten the same amount of vapor as the dual coils gave me. Juice flavors seem a tad better. No burnt taste, except with higher voltage with my new Provari pushing their limits trying for a sweet spot. I've definitely noticed longer battery life in all three mods. Frankly I haven't noticed if there's a difference in juice consuption, because of how I jump from one flavor to another with over 12 tanks.

I just got some single coils in 3.0 ohm for the Provari today. Only loaded one so far, and still experiementing with voltages to find the sweet spot with that flavor. It's a Double Espresso from VapeRite, 100% vg and currently my favorite. I'm cooking at 4.5v so far, and the vapor and flavor is intense.

That is just one vapor's experience between single and dual coil cartos. And that is just with the Smoktek brand. I've always wanted to try some Ikenvape Platinum cartos due to some great reviews, but everytime I look they are out of stock.
