The P80 has been my main all day for nearly 2 months. It just fits me and the way I vape (all day everyday).

Agree completely.

I do note the battery life is less than my other main, a smok al85, but that's okay.

I think that Smok products sometimes have a lower battery cutoff than most other mods, so the AL85 would last longer because it's discharging your battery more. That means your batteries should last longer with the P80.

When I got all (4) of them yesterday (Thurs.) morning they had been sitting in my mail box for 2 hours, at 28°F, so when I got them inside I unpackaged them and let them sit on my bench for about 3 hours to warm up to close to room temp, then I put them in my Liitokala Lii-500 charger to charge at 500mAh (I took a reading before that and found that the (4) had from 3.50v to 3.53v already in them from IMRbatteries). They were done charging around midnight Thursday night and I let them sit till about 8am Friday before I put (1) in my Sinuous P80. I'm using it now and will let ya'll know how it goes, but if I remember correctly, it will take a few charges (2 or 3) before I am able to get the full mAh's in brand new batteries.

If I remember correctly the Al85 has (at least it originally had) an unusually high low voltage cutoff. In stark contrast to the Alien 220.

I've been vaping my Berserker/P80 setup since 8'oclock this morning when I put in the New Sanyo 18650GA battery (and have been vaping ONLY this setup) and so far I have 215 puffs on it and 70% battery left. How correct the battery percentage is calculated on the P80, I have no idea. I do about 3.2 sec to 4 sec hits, all tight MTL. So here's this much. Oh, and I am on the First, initial charge of that battery also, so it is not up to speed yet being New.

Some devices do have a lower than most cutoff (or higher than most cutoff), so your right Ken. Like my Presa TC100 has a 3.35v cutoff, and my Presa 75TC has one down to 3.1x volts, and when the battery symbol starts blinking, that puppy is DEAD. I have 2 Presa 100's and 3 presa 75's and it seems like they calibrated the 2 series differently. With Arctic Fox one can go into the software and change that Low Battery cutoff point, which is Very Cool.

My Alien had a cutoff around 2.8-2.9v (Djlsb saw the same in his test), and from tests of the al85 with early/original firmware I believe the cutoff was closer to 3.5v (I've never owned the al85 though, so I have no personal experience of it).

What I have found thru working with Arctic Fox Firmware in my Presa 100TC is that that cutoff voltage includes under load battery sag and when voltage gets to where it is sagging down to 2.8v then it quits sending voltage to the main processor, and stops the whole thing from working. I guess that the processor needs a certain amount for it to work without resetting and completely shutting off (where you then have to turn it back on with 5 clicks).

From what I have read on the Arctic Fox forum, battery sag has to do with the condition and age of the battery you are using, and of course how high of wattage you have your device set for. But even the default cutoff (bottom voltage without any sag factored in) can be adjusted from the default of 2.8v down to as low as 2.5v (but that's where one can really get into trouble with too low a setting).

Well, that's certainly not low. I must have had it backwards - thanks for the correction.

I agree Figs, the preheat Has to effect it I would think.

I just now finally vaped thru my First SANYO18650GA battery in my P80. WoW !! Is all I have to say. My Blue 25R's and VTC4's must have been in worse shape than I thought, being 3+ years old and used every 2-4 days. I was getting 32x to 35x puffs off of my 25R's before they died and I had to change out, and lasted me a full day. This First SANYO battery lasted a bit over 2 full days, and 621 puffs (all P80 settings the same and same Berserker/Build). Any comparison between what I have would be fruitless ya know, New vs Old batteries. This just showed me that I really DID need New Batteries. I do have to repeat that this was the First use after the initial charge, so I am expecting even better performance after another charge or 2, then things should level off and be more consistent. Even though, 3+ years on the same batteries and I was STILL getting a full days use out of each is saying something, in my book at least.

Edit; Where I vape at, 8 watts and 2.8 volts, these batteries are working out perfectly for me.

The battery life on my P80 is less than on my AL85 for sure. But I do run the preheat function on the P80, and I’m sure that effects it.

Figs...do you also set the Preheat ("Strength") on your AL85?

Although not as precise as the P80's Watts/Duration...I can tell a difference with the AL85's "Hard" setting...(although, of course, it may be all "mental" )

..

Yes i also use the hard setting on the AL85. It seems to make a little difference, but not much. I like the AL85, and for me it compliments the P80. The main draw for me on both of them was the full hand trigger. So much better than a button for me. Both are comfortable in the Hand, but the P80 has the best IMHO.

That is the reason I also got the P80. I liked the Presa'a (both the 75TC and 100TC) so much because of that long "Fire Bar", and when I saw that the P80 had essentially the same thing, and it was also a WisMec, I had to get one or two (OK then, Two). After using that "Fire Bar" it is really hard for me to use any of my other Devices that only have a Button, they just feel a bit weird.

Hi all- just received mine a couple of days ago and really like it. My first external battery device. I first saw it in Ricks post a few months ago, and thought it looked great. Every time I saw it afterward, I really wanted it, so finally, Merry Christmas to me!

I found a minor issue with it, but MyFreedomSmokes was great. (First, I ordered on Thursday and rec'd Monday!). But playing with it the 2nd day, I found I couldn't access the menu for changing colors, and I believe the part of the menu where you check firmware? Pushing fire button and right button, I could see the red/green/yellow menu, but it disappears when I release the buttons. Got MFS on the phone, and 10 minutes in, they asked if I wanted my money back or a new unit. I like it, so told him to send another. 20 min. later, I got my shipping notification. Really nice to have a human & real customer service available. Meantime, everything else is working flawlessly with it. Nice pocketable size, more power than I need (0.85ohm, 8-10W). Seems I'm the only one with an issue, but no worries - I'll have a new one shortly, and every mfg. will have a hiccup now and then.
