Wtf? Its out-freaking-side. If I have to smell your weird uncle Bob in his ultra tight, beer belly friendly tank top from the 80's every time I wait in line, u can smell the sweet nectar of marshmallow from me. Come on. I see at least 5 unsightly buttcracks every time I go there. Suffer me the right to cloak myself in a fog of awesomeness, much like a major rock star.

I'll be the bad guy and say it. This is how it starts. First they want to quarantine the vapers. Next they'll have you stand in a bubble. Pretty soon, they'll just hand you a big space helmet so you don't have to breath anyone else's air. I actually wouldn't mind the helmet because then I don't have to share my vanilla custard. But why do we have to be singled out? Isn't it enough that we don't smoke or blow smoke in someone's face and pollute their air? I'm just getting tired of all the people making up rules without understanding what it is they are afraid of. These are just my humble yet frustrated thoughts on the matter.

I'm just getting tired of all the people making up rules without understanding what it is they are afraid of.

Oh they know very well what they're afraid of.

They're afraid of offending the 95% of their customers who don't smoke or vape by allowing you to blow massive clouds in line while standing right next to some 5 year old child that isn't yours. They're afraid of the complaints, loss of business, and potential legal liability in some cities or states if they allow you to vape around children.

Now let me ask you a question....

Why is it so important to you to vape around children? What makes you think you should be allowed to vape around someone elses small child? This isn't some adults-only business like a bar or night club, this is an amusement park that caters to children and nearly 50% of it's visitors are minors. If you're going to vape anywhere other than the designated areas you are guaranteed to be exposing someone elses kids to your vaping without giving the parents a choice in the matter. What makes you feel that you have the right to do that?

It is not so much the small child that is in danger, it is the media that will, very quickly, make it an issue. And, it doesn't have to be the media that is financially influenced by BT, but just the media that will sell the turmoil that they create. Drama sells in newspapers, periodicals, TV, radio, internet and any other venue.

I don't mind sitting on a bench, having a draw and reviewing where I am in the mob of people and figuring what direction I want to go. Should have a bench, though.

What makes you feel that you have the right to do that?

I'll say it even though you won't like the answer. I have the right to do, say, and think whatever I want, when and where I want. I understand there are penalties for doing the wrong things however vaping does not have those restraints placed upon the general public. If you are being obnoxious, then someone is well within their rights to say "please stop". If my actions are offending someone, a simple request is all that's needed, at least for me. As for your children, it's your job to protect them. You probably shouldn't take them anywhere in a car because you could have an accident that statically is much more likely. Lightning could strike too so just don't go outside. I live in the United States of America and have civil liberties that not all countries believe in. I'm a licenced, legal owner of firearms as well but I don't wave guns around in a public place. I just feel that the situation should be addressed to the individual instead of herding vapers in an area like they were infectious.

I believe this is the best thing since I started vaping, which was when all the regulations were starting to be put in place. A lot of places, Even Japan, you can only vape where you can smoke.
Which means you need to get all the second hand smoke, whenever you go to vape in the smoking areas which are usually packed with other smokers.

vaping only area is a way i can still be respectful and healthy

That's debatable. And its this attitude and action that gives vaping a bad image.
Also I wonder what their rules are for smokers and if they allow smoking, which I imagine they do, are the smoking sections as frequent or do they cater to one more than the other.

Yes, you do. As do I or any of us.

Some people see "asking" as a probable verbal conflict situation. They want to protect their children, but maybe they are intimidated or afraid.

Vaping doesn't have social support...yet. Many believe the constitution does not have support unless it has social support. We, Americans, do have many civil liberties...and civil responsibilities.

I'm not for making vaping illegal. I am for not pissing people off before the the science that proves its harmlessness as minimal and not requiring draconian laws.

Patience can be good in some situations. Immediate action can be good in some situations, too.

Last time I was at Knotts Berry Farm (a Disney wannabe park here in Los Angeles), the guards asked me not to vape in line, and not to vape while on a ride. Other then that, they said have a good time!

To me, that's a reasonable compromise. I don't vape near kids, I find an out of the way spot around a corner, take a few vapes, and move on.

Having to walk 20 minutes to find a vape zone doesn't really work for me. My wife doesn't vape, and certainly doesn't want to have to walk to a vape zone. My kids don't vape and also don't want to take time out so dad can vape.

Believe me, if you're considerate, there are enough out of the way places free of other guests, where you can go, take a few drags, and move on.

Richmond, Va...Right in Altria's back yard.
Thats pretty cool. I know my local amusement park, Kings Dominion, has decided to treat vapers like smokers.

We have to use the same areas that the smokers do.

This is a much better alternative IMO.

Of course if people werent intent on blowing massive clouds everywhere they go this wouldnt be an issue to start with...........

A bench, needs a bench. At amusement parks, I tend to review the map pretty often. Nice to vape at the same time. It would show a sense of respect/courtesy, too.

A bench, needs a bench.
There were 2 benches, I just focused on the sign though. I will say it was on the side of a main path. Most of the smoking areas are hidden off in corners somewhere

1.its a private business, so the fact they are trying to accommodate vapers is a good thing. The alternative is to ban it, which they did not.

2.its an amusement park, and they are trying to accommodate everyone, including non vapers, non smokers and non parents.

3. Yes, non parents.
They have designated diaper changing areas as well, so non parents, people eating funnel cakes, or whatever, don't have to smell juniors big surprise.

Just like some people don't like be around vapor clouds.

Amusement parks are in the accommodation business.... Give and take.

Edited to add:
Oh ya....It's six flags!
Put the vape down and get on a damn ride!
