What did vapers do when they smoked? Smoking isn't allowed everywhere. I worked at KD 25 years ago when smoking was allowed in the park- not on line, though. Cigarette butts were everywhere...

BLU also advertises at Six Flags...

I wonder that sometimes as well. Some people have turned into some major vape junkies.

When I can vape I hit it pretty hard but when I can't I don't even really think about it.

Last time I was at Knotts Berry Farm (a Disney wannabe park here in Los Angeles), the guards asked me not to vape in line, and not to vape while on a ride. Other then that, they said have a good time!

To me, that's a reasonable compromise. I don't vape near kids, I find an out of the way spot around a corner, take a few vapes, and move on.

Having to walk 20 minutes to find a vape zone doesn't really work for me. My wife doesn't vape, and certainly doesn't want to have to walk to a vape zone. My kids don't vape and also don't want to take time out so dad can vape.

Believe me, if you're considerate, there are enough out of the way places free of other guests, where you can go, take a few drags, and move on.

Your statement is correct. The problem is that for all those, like you, who are considerate, there are just as many or more who are not considerate. And those are the people that end up making all these types of rules, regulations, and laws happen.

Whether it is harmless vapor or not, the general public is not going to tolerate being forced to be around our second hand vapor, because to them it looks like smoking. That's pretty much the way it is, like it or not. And those that want to continually put it out there in everybody's face do just as much damage, to vaping, as the ANTZ.

I would rather vape around kids... ashes get in their eyes when you flick the ciggie, they always seem to find a way to walk into a lit ciggie and get burned, and when you drop the ciggie on the ground, they run over snatch it up and start puffin away on it... good thing I dont drop my mods when Im done ;)
but yes... a vaping spot free from ciggie smoke is a good thing... one of the main reasons to vape is to get away from ciggie smoke.... not be stuck in the middle of it...

I assume you can vape in the smoking area so no worries but this opens up all sorta weird situations.

With my wife its just me that vapes publicly so one stop.

With two of my daughters its just me that vapes so one stop.

With my son with/without any of the above its one stop.

With other daughter is smoking. So stop to smoke. Then stop to vape. By then she needs another smoke. So I skip the next vape area. By then she needs another smoke. So I skip the next vape area. By then she needs another smoke. By now I'm tweeking alittle and the non-smokers are getting seriously POed so we start nagging her which gets her stressed out so she needs three smokes. At this point we have prolly covered 500 feet in the last hour and a half.

Things are getting complex.

...? Its out-freaking-side. If I have to smell your weird uncle Bob in his ultra tight, beer belly friendly tank top from the 80's every time I wait in line, u can smell the sweet nectar of marshmallow from me. Come on. I see at least 5 unsightly buttcracks every time I go there. Suffer me the right to cloak myself in a fog of awesomeness, much like a major rock star.

uncle Bob is obnoxious right? People that wear too much perfume are obnoxious right? Most people are annoyed by them and don't like them right?

Rules or no rules, why would you want to be like them?

Forgetting for the moment that it would be better if vapers were allowed to respectfully vape anywhere. Respectfully as in finding some open space, not cloud chasing in lines. As in learning to stealth vape, using low power setups in public, and juices that minimize clouds...

We vapers are people too. And we vapers generally have even more reasons to avoid active smoking than the general nonsmoking public since many (not me for some reason) don't want the "triggers" that being around smokers can cause. I hugely resent being forced to congregate with smokers in public. So this is a good compromise given that it is very unlikely any of us will ever live in a world where vaping is generally accepted anywhere.

When I was a smoker, I didn't enjoy standing in a cloud of someone else's secondhand smoke. As a vaper, I don't enjoy standing in a cloud of someone else's secondhand vapor. Maybe I'm just weird like that. But, I have to imagine the non-smoking/vaping public enjoys it even less. Hence, I do not vape in lines or other places where folks can be unwillingly exposed to my vapor. It's really just a matter of common courtesy.

I'll say it even though you won't like the answer. I have the right to do, say, and think whatever I want, when and where I want.

Um, actually, no, you do not.

Just as many or more? You must live in a terrible place. All the vapers I know are very considerate, in fact I've never seen any act of inconsiderate vaping in four years.

Actually, no, you do not.
You do not have the right to do or say anything you want.

Try saying "bomb" on an airplane the next time you feel like exercising that imaginary "right".

The constitutionally protected right to free speech specifically means the government cannot punish citizens for speaking out about it.
It does not give you the right to slander, threaten or "say" anything you want to anyone.

Actually, no, you do not.

In reality, I do. I didn't say that there wouldn't be consequences. I have the ability to do the most foul, horrendous, vile things to anyone I feel like. I will pay a penalty for doing so but that doesn't mean that they can't be done. How smart you are is the question as well as if you'll get caught. People have been trying to plan the perfect bank robbery since banks were opened. Movies and books are created depicting the perfect murder. I digress. Should you be forced to vape in an area that others have deemed appropriate? I feel the answer is no. Be courteous and respectful to others and all good things will come. Please don't be upset as this was a fun argument for me. :)

I think your mistake was using the word "right" instead of "ability" when you brought his up :). And you tacitly recognize that now.

Not upset at all :)
I enjoy debate, and I'm not emotion at all.

However, in your scenario let's flip the script.
Should paying patrons (with minor children, it's an amusement park) of a business be forced to accommodate your adult addiction/hobby?
Let's stay in context.
If it were an adult only establishment like a bar I would agree.
If it were a public place payed for by tax dollars, I would agree.

It's not.
It's a family friendly amusement park.

If you can't control your addiction enough to be courteous around others, the problem isnt with the park.
;)

I am in complete agreement with this statement. A major flaw from my perspective is that if you have a problem with being told where to vape, why would you go the park at all? I never really liked being told where I could smoke either so it just leaves a bad taste with me that now has carried over in to vaping. I never liked having a boss either for that matter which is why I own my company.

I've never witnessed the act of murder, can I question that murderers exist? You know as well as I do that there are plenty of inconsiderate aholes of all kinds...vapers are no exception

A bench, needs a bench. At amusement parks, I tend to review the map pretty often. Nice to vape at the same time. It would show a sense of respect/courtesy, too.

A bench, needs a bench.

Ahhhhhhh, they don't want to make us TOO comfortable, methinks. Kinda hedging their bets a bit?

I like the vaping area. I think it's good that the uninformed general public sees an area for us that is different from the smokers area. the benches are a plus, and the fact that the area is on the path as opposed to being tucked away into a corner is also good.

^^^ That x 100.

Sure there are. But at least where I live there are definitely not "just as many or more" inconsiderate ones and the ones who may be out there certainly don't have superhuman abilities.
